Hey guys i just OC my CPU from 2.4 to 3.0 GHz (I am newbie), I change the FSB frequency, PCIE frequency and CPU voltage in my bios after i get some guide from the internet and i made it to 3.0GHZ.
But I not sure the temperature is stable or not.... Below is my screenshot.

That is the status for Idel

I am lazy to open program to have a heavy load on it so i use prime95 to show the status during stress test. below is the pic

Both Asus PC Suite (AI Suite and PC Probe) shows temperature arounf 57-61 C during stress test but HWMonitor from CPUID is different.... Which 1 should I refer to ?
If HWmonitor was right then I am melting my CPU.... So is it stable or I am killing my machine....
I change my CPU voltage to 1.275000.. But i never get the correct reading... Am i did something wrong
If I am killing it please tell me i will switch it back to default...

I am currently continuing my stress test.... Anything wrong pls comment... I do not want to spoil it Xp
Advice and comment will be appreciated... notworthy.gif

what cooling are u using?
the cpu temp show by asus software is not the core temp, it was the temp sensor from motherboard around the processor.
the temp show by hwmonitor are the real temp of your processor, it read from the sensor inside the processor die, the temp will easily goes up to 80c or more if u continue stressing it.
beside that what test are u choose at prime95?

For the stress test think is 2nd option.... I am new to prime95 also and the test running just now is primenet something i am not so sure...

blue orb is just a little better than the stock cooler, and it dont cold down a quad well, maybe lousy than the stock one on quad.. u shall get those with heatpipe such as hyper tx3 which around rm60 and will do much better than this, if budget not a problem for u can try TRUE which is damn good for quad biggrin.gif
so u need a proper cooling and it will get u up to 3.2 or 3.4ghz easily..

from the loading vcore at 3ghz, it look very good if it stable because 1.152v at 3ghz can consider low. a proper cooling u can goes up to 3.2 or 3.4ghz around 1.25-1.3v which is consider very low at 65nm core die.

You should use core temp for more accurate temp rather than asus pc suite

what is your ambient temp? while im using air cooler my temp was shoot above 90C whenever i stress it coz of high ambient temp, after i switch to watercool it never exceed 70C no matter how i stress it.
