Ramires has 8 for Benfica, and 18 for Brazil. Could be 4, 13 or even 16 for us.

Um we lost to Ajax and Eintracht Frankfurt with our home kit? At this rate, no need to wear kits la! haha
should be pre-season blues i won't read too much into it. CA should be able to coax minimal effort from the boys to nick some 1-0s for the start of the season, and get kicking in maybe mid-season. never easy esp post WC season. |

The whole team was lethargic last night, and most goals were defensive errors. 1st 2 goals were def Ashley's fault, he did not track both runs from Valencia, while the 3rd goal was a combo of Bruma's and Hilario's inexperience. Of course, our play was not good, but not that bad either with us holding most of the possession, and also higher number of chances/shots created, but spurned eventually.
And agreed that we do need a signing to spruce up the team, must admit that Hernandez's intro into the game lifted MU's play, while Yossi's intro did not do the same for us. Sturridge still needs to get rid of his tendency to play alone, even if he has the skills in abundance. CA def has a lot to do to get the boys back up and running, hopefully this defeat will snap them out of the lethargy sooner rather than later, and start nicking some wins to get the confidence back. After a while, a run of defeats will do no good to the overall confidence. |

I'd think a new defender would be coming in soon, short of options now. Either completely new (signed) or promotion from the reserves.
I'm just thinking about depth, i.e. enough quality to replace those who left. Def huge shoes to fill the likes of Deco, Carvalho, Ballack etc, very very experienced esp in European play. |

Trade off la bro. Success v youth development. Agreed that they need time to play, but the 'cost' of success is so much higher now, any failures/slightest mistake will cost the club (titles-wise). JT came in at the right time, when the club was still in pre-RA cash-tight mode.

I'd thought Ramires fits the 4 instead of the 7. As for the 9, CFC maybe just reserving the number for an unknown new signing, before deciding if Di Santo will still wear the 9 again this season.

cos plokoon is a glory hunter la! always wearing flavour of the month! haha (just joking mate).
Ramires 4 would be better as I envisioned him to be in the Maka role, should be more effective than Mikel TBH. That leaves space for both Essien and Lamps to bomb forward, and more security in front of Alex/Iva and Terry. Mikel still has a lot to learn, as he is still losing quite a fair bit possession in very dangerous areas of the midfield. He has improved no doubt, but needs to be a lot more steadier than he is at present. |

I've seen Chu-Young played during WC2010, not really good enough to be a starting striker, but def one who is willing to run his socks off for the cause. Something like his compatriot in Manchester.
It'd be good for the club commercially, especially if they are going to tour Korea and Thailand next summer. Nice to see an Asian lad finally breaking into Chelsea's squad (if he comes), even if just to warm the bench. |

I think the field is much further away from the seats @ Bkt Jalil than Shah Alam, there is some sort of a 'longkang' before the tracks before the field, thus making it even further away. However, getting to Bkt Jalil will be much easier than Shah Alam though.
Can't remember prices but should be affordable. Unless ProEvents charge higher la, you never know these things. |

Mourinho being Mourinho, I would not expect anything less of such statements from him
As for Shebby, he has been anti-Chelsea all his life, couldn't blame him as he is an ardent Spurs fan. Good thing is that, he can have his Spurs and keep it, I don't think he will have any reason to cheer as Spurs continue to flatter to deceive. And an update on our away and 3rd kits, it's already in @ Adidas boutiques in KL! This post has been edited by aw13: Aug 30 2010, 03:03 PM |

@plokoon
nice kit there mate, smashing training kit I must say. yup Di Santo's number seems to be up the moment he was not allocated a squad number which I think was a bit strange. |

Now that is worth getting. But at GBP99 a pop.....
Um I think only 1 weekend is 'free' of club football i.e. this weekend. We already will be playing West Ham by next weekend mates. This post has been edited by aw13: Sep 3 2010, 10:53 AM |

Guys
Stop going over there and provoke them. Why can't us Chelsea fans have a bit of dignity and hold our heads high, even when ppl are losing theirs? Just have our own discussion in our thread about our beloved club, and don't worry about what other ppl may say about us. I know their statements last time about Terry hurt, at least now they know that not everyone is perfect. Moderators of the Football Lounge will not hesitate to start banning troublemakers, and sad to say some of them are from this thread. I hope this ends now. |

As long as the Chelsea fans stand by their captain, that should be enough. Why do we want to stoop to their level? Yes I've read about them as well, and there are some sarcastic ones. But like you said, Karma bites right? Also, maybe the other fans have more class, so that's why they don't go round thrashing other threads. So let's be more like that, shall we?

Bit of a mixed bag really. I agree that players selected for national duty must have pride to play for their country, but at the same time, you've got to know when your body needs to take a rest and say no to games that you can miss. After all, your club pays for your livelihood.

It's pretty frustrating at times when you are a fixture in the national set-up but not good enough on a club level. Agreed, Zhirkov must really bide his time esp when A. Cole is ahead of him in the LB position, while Flo is also hitting great form in left wing. Timing is everything, I guess.

Guys
Enjoy the win in our own thread, no need to take the mickey from any other threads/supporters. Better to share victories with fellow fans, esp those who stick by the team through thick and thin. |
