you can flash the fisaco kernel right away. Personally tho, i use titan's custom kernel and change the oc values through xterminal, plus it allows me to edit voltage usage levels as well. Also I hear that ist more compatible with pr 1.2 .I'm a noob at terminal, but pushing myself to use it has greatly increased my comfort level with it, biggrin.gif cool2.gif

Added on June 6, 2010, 11:46 amhmmm, maybe i shud do a short tut on using custom kernel settings.

I've done the 1st command

"sudo gainroot"

but the 2nd commance is not successfull

it say /bin/sh: kernel-config: not found
*
that command only works if you oc using titan's custom kernel. if u oc'd by just flashing fiasco's then conky is the best, open some apps, and then open conky. it should show ur max cpu speed. i think its showing 500 because thats your lower limit.

owh ic....no wonder i can't verify the OC successful or not....Conky only show base on the CPU load after many program run at one time....

I'm installing the Enhanced kernel for power users (settings) now!

Do I need to install the Enhanced linux kernel for power users as well?

thanks!
*
you need to install 'Enhanced linux kernel for power users' and then install the settings after that, then refer to this gudie here, for the xterminal commands:

Seems like i will need to download it 1st...200+ MB...big woooo.....

I have experienced flashing before on my Z8...but not that pro yet...

Will seek for help if needed...

Let say i follow the instructions as the 1st page...consider it will be a full wipe rite? Like coming out from factory...is it advisable to do that or???

Anyway im using an AP set...No different right... rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
glad to hear that you flashed successfully, biggrin.gif sorry for the late reply, something came up last night. if you flash the eMMC as well, only then is it a full wipe. if you haven't installed anything much yet, its advisable lar, but don't forget to backup contacts, etc. No issue if your set is AP or ORI, only thing i've heard is that for some some ap sets, need to install the firmware specific to its region if you're not using the Global file. cheers!

aiks, so soreeeee bro, made a mistake, this app can only disable the nokia hands video, if you wanna change boot video, you need to install 'Bootscreen Manager' from AppManager, sorry for the mixup, blush.gif

That's easy.
Navigate to /usr/share/hildon-welcome/media through OpenSSH.
Copy the video inside for backup.
Replace the video with whatever avi format video you want.
*
does this method support other video formats???

have you installed the extra media player codecs??

Hehe, yeah got quite a list of apps, i'm an ex symbian user, so quite spoiled cos i'm used to being able to do everything on my phone, luckily most are optified so they don't clog up my root, but need to otpify manually a few app folders ( reading up on that now, biggrin.gif )

@Eiraku: Bro, could you share the link to where you saw instructions for underclocking/undervolting when screen is locked, thanks!

hehe, since you're interested in Android, and have a spare n900, check out www.nitdroid.com, they've managed to get eclair ( 2.1 ) working except for sound and the phone fucntions.

currently back to OC 900 mHz, Tried out both 950 mHz and 100mHz for a few days. Not much difference except under heavy multi-tasking so considering making 950 my standard oc now. On 1gHz don't really feel much difference from 950, so i'll stay away for that for now. Using ulv and xlv , titan's kernel. Anybody been running their baby at 1gHz steadily??? I noticed i finally got noticable battery heat buildup on 1gHz if i use heavy wifi. but no real processing improvements over 950.
