EDIT: Finally got it. Ovi's new credit card system seems far more robust now, yay.

Game is, well, awesomely great fun. Can't wait for more stuff from the maker (one more game OTW).

Go buy and support them now guys. It's less than fifteen ringgits only for a spanking new Maemo game that is touch optimised, we don't wanna scare off them devs now do we (now that it seems they're the only ones rajin enough to code commercial games for Maemo)?

This is the "dirty" way of doing it, but easier as EVERYTHING is changed. The cons is some UI elements and apps NEED the original Nokia Sans to work well. Otherwise text goes out of buttons, things become unreadable etc. etc.

Some. But it REPLACES Nokia Sans nontheless.

The "clean" way to do it is to mod the gtkrc file, either by editing the gtkrc file INSIDE the theme folder YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING, or buy using this handy script and the steps below it:



1. Copy the code, paste in leafpad (or whatever editor you're using in the N900)
2. Substitute "alpha" with the name of your CURRENT THEME (the blue one is "alpha", the orange one "beta")
3. Substitute "Droid Sans" with whatever font you want (I use "Droid Sans Bold"). Tip: Use the fonts option in Terminal to see what fonts you have installed.
4. Run terminal, use "sudo gainroot" to... well... gain root.
5. Copy edited code from leafpad, paste into terminal.
6. Reboot.

NOTE: This script does NOT change the font in conversations. To do that, you need to edit /etc/hildon/theme/css/colors.css (the last section of the file) and specify your own font.

ALSO, only run once and reboot. Because it's useless after the first run that as script checks for "Nokia Sans" and replaces it. When you run it once, no more instances of "Nokia Sans" as it has all been replaced. For a second run (a new font change) you also have to change "Nokia Sans" to whatever font you have selected.

Pros: Does not replace default fonts.
Cons: Complex and more steps than "dirty" method. Need xterm knowledge. STILL will cause some strangeness in UI if you set the font size too big.

ALSO, font changing = boxes for CJK characters if the fonts ARE NOT UNICODE IINM. Keep in mind, but I'm not really sure.

I just got my bulk order. I put in one time, then took out edi. It fit nicely, but the clipping side make the sticker come out. So now my n900 go back to naked again.

how u move those all icons into the folder? After i add outside still have the same icons

what is your mmsc and http proxy ? did u put any ip address and dns address ?

here are my latest desktop screens guys. have been doing some heavy icon modding. For those interested the icons are in  /usr/share/icons/  just browse with root and change to your own. Theme elements are in  /usr/share/themes.

icons for optified apps are in /opt/maemo in different folders. All icons are named accordingly except for blessn900 which is called app_64icon.png

still looking for a good background wallpaper.

for the stuff like cpu speed etc, i use the desktop command widget ( downloadable in dev repo ) just select the scripts from the preset list.more advanced ones can be found in talk.maemo. lemme try and see if i can find the wiki.

Added on July 12, 2010, 10:29 pm@aspire, unfortunately the phone/3g is not working or the 3d accel which is currently being worked on. latest build has working wifi and Bt, but the transitions are still choppy. dj_steve says that should be ironed out in a month or two, since the project is focusing on the n900 specifically now.

Added on July 12, 2010, 10:33 pmoh ya, forgot to mention flash 10 is working, just need add some patched files into the android ext3 root. only thing i had to install vbox and use mint linux just to partition my sd card, cos didn't have a good 3g /wifi connection at the time.
