Yeah, KL is cheaper, 2k can get a HD Ready 42' Plasma, 42' FHD LCD around RM2300 I like the Panasonic IPS alpha panel, cos it made in Japan. Higher tech than the current S-IPS panel

I've bought the 42inch version. Quality is good. It also depends what type of DVD we play lah Some Ahem DVDs are better than others the picture is very clear. Oh, remember to buy a DVD player that can upscale to Full HD.

Nope - won't pay monthly subscription to watch adverts in HD. It's as bad as normal TV now. In an hour's show 25 mins is dedicated to adverts... and we're expected to pay for that? No thanks. Right now, HD quality is good enough for me. This post has been edited by index7: Jun 24 2010, 11:56 AM

I don't see that HD channels on astro have so much adverts..... but repeated program, yes, I have.... For the 2nd point i agree with you, price of BD discs now are still expensive. The BD player itself are also still expensive. For the time being, better I stick to my current upscale DVD player.... This post has been edited by AjkR06: Jun 24 2010, 12:41 PM

Yup have watched the BD discs before - they are very nice no doubt Just that for me I am not willing to spend that type of money for BD quality. I don't think the value vs quality is balanced yet. Anyhow this is subjective, some people may think it's worth it while others don't think so. I guess we'll all make choices which we think suits our needs & budgets.
