just call astro centre
have 2 package

1) upgrade your astro beyond to new beyond pvr (RM300) + new contract for 12 month for RM10/month
you can cancel your HD anytime when you apply this package

2) buy external WD harddisk and just plug&play.RM5/month.no contract. can cancel anytime with RM10 fee
*
No any contract for PVR. If you wish to terminate PVR service, you must inform Astro to swap your PVR decoder to normal B.Yond and HD service fees still applies for 12 months contract.

I thought we have to pay extra RM 20 per month so it is RM 30/month extra for PVR. Can anyone confirm ?
*
5. How much does it cost to subscribe to Astro B.yond PVR service?
a) The recording service will be a monthly charge of RM10
b) For customers who subscribe to both the HD and recording services, the fee is RM30 per month.

I think it is ridiculous that we have to return the PVR if we cancel our ASTRO subscription.

We pay rm 300 for nothing ?  mad.gif

For the old astro box, if we cancel, we can still keep it until we reconnect astro again many years later.  rclxms.gif

Yes, you're right.
But, with PVR, you can record one channel while watching other channel.
Or record two channels simultaneously but you will stuck with one channel that you're currently record.
I don't think that you can fill up 500GB space on B.yond PVR so quickly...
I have recorded about 30 programs on my B.yond PVR, mostly in SD.., and 5 in HD if i' not mistaken.., but I still have about 200 hours free recording space....  thumbup.gif
*
I'm curious on whether they will allow us to add an external HDD to PVR as there are USB connectors in front and back as well.

question...

i have max...
at the same time i just but the samsung tv...so get the promo..
here this situation...can i change to pvr for max for free and get one year subscrition free (20 per month)

Can ah like that?
can advise me?
*
No! You can get one year subscription fees waiver for RM10 - PVR and you still have to pay RM20 per month for HD if you choose to have HD. Waiver of installation fees for swapping of Max to PVR.

They will simply reschedule if nobody is around on the scheduled date & time as their schedule is very tight I guess.

Just called Astro CS..,

I asked them whether I can cancel HD Services anytime that I want, and guess what they said, I can cancel it anytime that I want! Only RM10 one time charges will be billed to my account and they also will deactivate my HDMI port and I can only use component output...

They informed me that after change to PVR, I did not stick to 1 year B.yond contract anymore..... and I can activate back HD services anytime that I want...

Anyone can clarify this? Since I hardly believe what they said to me just now...., already "terkena" 2 times by them... ohmy.gif

I planned to cancel HD services after WC end, and just maintain PVR services... it saves my RM20 per month....
*
I heard you can't watch the HD content that you have recorded if you cancel your HD service.

No such option or somebody can tell me how to do it.

This option is only available in Astro Max at this moment.

Hey guys, sorry for asking such a basic question but I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer...

I managed to get a free byond replacement for my Astro Max and the technician said that the byond requires double aerial cable or something and he gave me the option of drilling for the secondary cable or buying a signal compressor for RM300. The cabling for my astro was done 13 years ago and is really really long so I'll have to go for the converter option and I just want to know whether is he trying to screw me over because RM300 sounds suspiciously overpriced... Is there anywhere I can get that device and how much will it cause near Subang? Many many thanks in advance!! Keep up the awesome work guys!1

Stacker-De-stacker (SDS)
Note: If you want to retain having only one surface-run cable or concealed cable when installing the
Astro B.yond PVR box, you may opt for the stacker-destacker device at an ADDITIONAL cost of
RM300 for each Astro B.yond PVR box installed.

if you just turned on the decoder it can take several minutes to cache the first load of the EPG. It scans from channel 101 down from the first available time slot  ie 101 - 1pm, 102 - 1pm 103  -1pm etc then it goes back to the top and scans the next time slot.
*
What if the EPG is not having the latest show? e.g. upto 7 days. Can I put it into standby mode after watching the shows or do I need to off and on the decoder?
