I fully concur. My iDTV has been configured to automatic calibrate to support 1080p as its optimum resolution output. The only culprit that I can think of is either the HDMI cable or the Astro B.YOND decoder setting.

But since there someone said the settings are just 720p and 1080i, I might configure it at 720p instead of 1080i. True. The setting menu can be viewed with the "HOME" button. I'm still in the office right now but will definitely I'll give it a try tonight.

my friend subscribe sports channel during world cup. recorded many matches. after world cup he unsubscribe sports. Recorded stuffs can't be viewed now if you unsubscribe!!!!! WTF

need u guys opinion, i want to subscribe astro beyond and planning to get 42 inch lcd/plasma tv. do i need Full HD tv or HD Ready is enough? do the 50ghz or 200ghz motion (im not sure the term) give the big impact for beyond. thanks..

Sorry to dissapoint u bro..but no EPL on ESPN STAR SPORTS..all moved to Astro's crappy Supersport channel..just watch ESPN and Star Sports promo for August, no mention of EPL or the Champions League qualifiers..only community shield match..and astro arena announced Liverpool vs Arsenal on Supersport..so yeah..pretty much confirmed we gonna get AStro cheap in house presenting EPL..

4 those of u who know about football matcg timing..have a think about this..before this on a Saturday night Malaysian time u had..

7PM - EPL ON ESPN

10PM - EPL ON ESPN
- EPL ON STAR SPORTS
- BUNDESLIGA ON SUPERSPORT

12AM - EPL ON ESPN
- LA LIGA/SERIE A ON SUPERSPORT
- LIGUE 1 ON SUPERSPORT 2

2AM - LA LIGA/SERIE A ON SUPERSPORT N SUPERSPORT 2

Now the biq question is one of the these leagues will become victim of Astro putting EPL on Supersport..they can cram and show everything now could they? or instead of 4 EPL matches each night we are only gonna get 1 or maybe 2? gonna be some big changes i think..

It's actually not "fitted". The video is stretched vertically while the horizontal resolution is the same. It should have been 2.40 AR letterboxed. For those with anamorphic lens on their projector, that screening would have been interesting.
The auto S3D of that model is only passable as it's not meant to be used by people who actually want to see details. I've seen a larger model where it looks fine for normal footage but when it came to text and fine detail, it completely lost it.

I don't think it's pressure from the CEs. I believe that some people who are upgrading are upgrading directly to 3D. According to Sony, by 2012 half of their HDTVs will be 3D models. The effect is still the same though - to entice people to upgrade their TVs at least to HD and subscribe to B.yond. Doing so would make it faster for Astro to abandon the SD decoder and migrate to H264 broadcast.

previously I always record the badminton matches to the DVDsby using the dvd recorder
now my DVD recorder can not function after a few years, & noticed that Astro has this Astro B.yond PVR with recording function
but I wonder can I tranfer the files recorded with Astro B.yond PVR to external HD in order to save them into DVDs? Thanks for ur input

or just at standby mode will be sufficient

I am watching the CSI Trilogy rite now on AXN HD..
n during commercial break, they aired a new EPL Promo..
Not the usual Torres promo..
It a new one that they say more goals, more action and more games..
Weird that they say more games and not say all games or all matches LIVE like the Astro CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan said in the article below..
But more importantly, at the end of the promo, they said EPL 2010/2011 on Astro Supersport, Supersport 2 and Supersport HD..
No mention of ESPN STAR Sports or Superport 3 like what was said..
Apart from one person who said EPL was listed on ESPN STAR in the AstroView magazine, its hard to find any other source..
