Description:
DIY Famine: 26 + 4: Camp leaders will run 26-hour DIY Famine Camps during the official Famine
Weekend. All campers will then come for the Famine Countdown event. Together, we will count down the
last 4 hours of the Famine, reflecting on what we have learned, sharing our experiences and enjoying a starstudded
celebrity showcase. We will then break fast together.
Kidz Famine (NEW!):A special edition of the Famine just for kids, the Kidz Famine lasts for just 8
hours, and is open to children aged 4 – 12 years old. Child-friendly materials will be provided.

Registration Fees:
DIY Famine Camp (26 hours)
-Registration fee of RM20 payable to Camp Leader.
- Raise funds using the coupon booklet that Camp Leader will give you:RM80 (minimum) for students/senior citizens (aged 55 years and above).
RM120 (minimum) for non-students.
Kidz Famine Camp (8 hours) (For children under 12 years old)
-Registration fee of RM15 payable to Camp Leader.
-Raise funds using the donation box that Camp Leader will give you.Minimum donation required is RM50. Children who wish to attend the Countdown must be accompanied by parent.

WHAT IS 30 HOURS FAMINE?
-The 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. Participants fast for 30 hours, learn
about global issues and raise funds, transforming hunger into hope. Our theme for the year is “Light Up Their
Lives! 为孩子打造无贫城市”.
Where is the money going?
International Beneficiaries
- Myanmar (centre for urban children)
- Thailand (centre for street children)
- China (HIV/AIDS awareness programmes for migrant factory workers)
Local Beneficiaries
- Yayasan Sin Chew Retirement Village
- Shemariah Foster Home for Children
- Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled
OBJECTIVES:
-To heighten awareness on global social issues caused by poverty and its impact on children.
-To raise funds amounting to RM1Million that will be channelled to poverty-alleviation programmes carried out by the World Vision partnership and local NGOs.
