QUOTE(TOS @ Sep 9 2021, 04:35 PM) So, Maybank SG phoned me just a moment ago and told me that my token is locked. So they will unlock them. I have been using SMS token, is that what you are referring to?The CS rep suggests me to use the token often even if no fund transfer is done. Maybe once a month, she said. Perhaps this can be a useful advice for those who use Maybank SG with token. |

QUOTE(cklimm @ Sep 11 2021, 09:41 AM) I have sg broker account but didn’t invest yet. My sgd is still mainly in StashAway. Do you think it’s better to invest in the stock market? Thing is I don’t have much time to monitor the sg market hence I opted for StashAway instead |

QUOTE(CommodoreAmiga @ Apr 16 2023, 02:59 PM) The only reason I go to Singapore is because got relatives there. Else you won't find me stepping foot on that shitty expensive island either. Agree. I only go there as I have relative working there too. Vacation is definitely a no no to me as there’s literally nothing much to see + it’s quite expensive. I can get better food back here too. QUOTE(TOS @ Jun 5 2023, 11:11 PM) Just to inform Maybank SG users to check if there are any fraudulent/unauthorized transactions with your debit cards. Just wondering, have you used your debit card for any online purchase before?I noticed someone stole hundreds of SGD from my account via unauthorized debit card transactions with merchant names like MyPerfectResume.com and BLS*MYHeritageLtd. Have to call Maybank SG Customer Rep. to deactivate my debit card and now need to submit a dispute resolution form to claim back my money... If the "stolen" amount is small (e.g. 5 SGD), no email notification will be sent, but if the amount is large, e.g. hundreds of SGDs in one go, then that will trigger an email to your account. So, it's best to login and check your account often. |

QUOTE(Chiggah @ Nov 18 2023, 10:28 AM) May I know the reasons people here transfer to SG bank account for ? You can earn interest while you park in CIMB SG but the interest is minimal. Alternatively you can park your money in StashAway or other investment vehicle.I know one of them is to transfer from SG CIMB to Interactive Brokers, but is it also to park in SG because MYR is devaluing ? Can we earn FD while we park in SG CIMB ? |

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Jan 5 2024, 08:04 AM) Here u go. Referral code deleted already. Hahahaha Just wondering though, why would one need more than 1 SG bank account? I have Maybank iSavvy and I don't see any need to have more than 1 account though. Happy to share that I have successfully opened my OCBC Singapore account with just my IC and Passport. The process of applying through the app is a bit a pain in the ass, as needs to do several times for the app to accept my IC. Tips, the ic can be slightly outside the rectangle. Took about 3 working days for the account to be approved. Was given Global Savings Account and Statement Savings Account. Initial deposit required is just SGD1000, it can be from your Singaporean bank account or Malaysian bank account. I already have Maybank SG account. So this is very seamless. Despite the T&C showing initial deposit for non-resident Statement Savings Account is SGD20k. I just needed to deposit SGD1k. Not sure if this only applies for Malaysians or what. Regardless, even if the fall below fee for non-resident Statement Savings Account which is 20k is imposed as per T&C (no fee for first year), don't worry, we can go around this. cool2.gif Once you have access to the OCBC SG online banking, you can immediately apply for other accounts like OCBC 360 (minimum balance 3k) or OCBC Frank (minimum balance 1k), Monthly Savings account (minimum balance 500) or other OCBC SG accounts. I prefer OCBC 360. I will close Statement Savings Account after this. So for all Malaysians residing in Malaysia, with no SG pass whatsoever. Right now we have 3 easy options for SG bank accounts (Maybank, CIMB and OCBC), everything done online, super easy. I don't keep a lot of money in the account, most of my money will be invested in places like Stashaway. With this in mind, does it make sense to have more than 1 SG bank account? |

For those who had both Maybank MY and SG accounts, is there a feature to link your SG account to your MY account, and view it there? I saw such an option in Maybank2u but I am unsure if this is how it will actually work.
Is there any cons in doing so? |

QUOTE(Mattrock @ Apr 2 2024, 02:48 PM) Wow, this is good. MBB SG only gives around 2.6%. My only concern is in case I don't wake up tomorrow, the money will be stuck there as they don't do joint accounts yet. Can get very complicated without a SG Will. May need to get one done. I have this concern too. Actually we can do a separate will in Malaysia for SG asset? |

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Dec 12 2024, 08:11 AM) poooky this is what i remember (might be wrong) Any idea if this is a directive from MAS? If so it is only time till other banks follow suit as well.
--update-- looks like 1 month ago, OCBC sg already revamped their opening account. you need proof of eventually staying in SG to open (passport alone is not enough anymore). not going to translate sorry https://youtu.be/kbuk9EAOugk so they were indeed planning this crackdown for some time |
