just give them any investment account. can be malaysians roboadvisors like stashaway or KDI. not necessarily local malaysian stocks accounts. the whole requirements doesn't make sense but there you are

need to have minimum average daily balance of S$500 to prevent S$2 monthly service charge

i already corrected my post. i got confused with DBS $1k fall below threshold.

i opened my DBS acct in 2009 when fall below was only $500, $500 still applicable to me due to grandfather clause. just closed this year bcos i think it's silly to lock up any funds, also partly bcos covid shows me that my money could technically be frozen as i won't be able to liquidate/close acct with the border closed (well i mean, i can always withdraw what i want, just pay S$2 monthly only)

CIMB SGD->MYR rate is better than midvalley. rugi tak buka. just remember to set daily limit to RM100k if you need to transfer that much in case of emergency.
I use StashAway SG simple so I don't have to deal with CIMB's weird FD mechanism

I'll pick MBB sg in case i want CDP Acct. What unique feature does OCBC sg have, assuming i already have CIMB+MBB? seems like only thing for now is referral bonus

Another heads-up,... in order to be able to open a CDP Acct, only OCBC and Maybank SG are 'accepted' by CDP/SGX. Unfortunately, CIMB is not in the list yet !
*
seems like CIMB sg not on the list though

Hi, I've received the email stating that the CIMB Account has been activated.

Does the SMS for the activation code comes along immediately, or later on?
*
congrats. SMS will come eventually. probably 1/2 working day later

rates are good, although me & my sg friend checked out the rates, and we find out CIMB SG->MY still wins

for MYR->SGD can consider this for trx under RM3k

ignoring the possibility that malaysians can't register, can you actually remit the money to a malaysian bank account (under your name, or others)

I think a bit waste of time also. I called and they ask to submit documents via email. Application entering 3rd week now.

shawnme case is different. application approval fully processed. just waiting for SMS containing OTP only. in my case, SMS came hours after final email

their refund will take 5 business days. better find out what they want so they can approve your acct instead

from the email, it seems like if u state "savings" as part of the reason, they want to see an account statement with high $$$

But my MBB iSavvy account is eating SGD$2 every month. Thinking to terminate it, but the zero fee transfer to/from MBB Malaysia is what's keeping me holding on to it.

come let me share with you the real time midvalley rates
Midvalley https://cashchanger.co/malaysia/mc/max-mone...ey-megamall/520 CIMB SG back to RM

so at the very least, you should compare against midvalley
QUOTE(moonsatelite @ Jan 4 2024, 04:33 PM)
i wonder why don't people notice the Ar-Rihla Savings account instead which only needs SGD $200 minimum balance, the lowest requirement from Maybank SG
*
also content creators like ziet have outdated videos, so only the iSavvy option is known

Not sure why deleted? Maybe people don't want us to open sg account ? Lol.
His post on step by step how to open a ocbc account. Not mine.
*
his steps got mentions about referral code for sure

My transferwise post on comparing the two types of referrals (I don't even get to benefit, as that post was meant to steer ppl away to use the better referral, of which I don't have) was reported on and removed without any explanation also.

Not just "oh, don't share your codes publicly" only
