Should be. Use RM to buy bitcoins then exchange the bitcoins to SGD.

Er, bitcoin transaction takes few minutes. I have tested previously transfer bitcoin to bitcoin. I think within 30 minutes can settle.

It depends on the USD. If USD tank, your bitcoin maybe worth a lot all of a sudden.

We were talking about how AIYH lost SGD30 via TT when he TT down SGD560 alone. So I recommend few options
(i) transfer from same bank (in this case Maybank MY to Maybank SG. This should only cost RM10.60 + SGD10 -> provided that there's no agent fees.)
(ii) transfer from other banks (in this case any banks to Cimb SG as there's no incoming fees. for Cimb SG Charges should be RM10.60 + SGD20 (if there are agent fees) )
(iii) transfer using same bank (in this case Cimb MY to Cimb SG. Charges should be only RM10.60 provided that there are no agent fees)
(iv) transfer using money changer (get cheaper rates to agent fees) but not sure safe or not.
(v) transfer using bitcoins (to overcome all fees)

All of them are not tested. Will test them out one by one and see once I get my Maybank SG account.

Er how about bank rate? IF bitcoin can offer cheaper rate (almost same to money changer rate), wouldn't that be better option?
Btw, can we use money changer to actually send money to SG or it's not advisable?

Haven't but seeing that bicoin is under utilise, the company will need to make sure it's "cheap" to attract more people.
Losing money via money changer is not really the main concern.
Why: Indon, bangla, myanmar all use money changer to send money back. Never seen them enter malaysian banks to transfer money back. Use big compnies like Merchant Trade, RIA, should be OK

More worried about kena black listed for money laundering by SG side. Don't know if use money changer can kena that or not.

Aha. Thanks for the news. First time hear cimb can give better rates. Planning to use uob as they have the cheapest rate (compare everyday for 1 month plus ) plus better rates above rm5k (they told me).

Specifically opened uob for that purpose.

Wonder if cimb can beat uob in terms of rates.

2. One CDP account can be linked with many securities. So actually you don't need to open many CDP account. But the choice is yours whether you want to have 2 CDP accounts or not

I will help you.
1. Not all Maybanks can do this. You need to find the selected branches. Where to find? It's in the iSavvy forms which you can download from the internet. Keep in mind there's branch for normal people and Priority banking branch. Go to the correct branch.

2. Requirements? It's listed in the pdf form. You cannot transfer straight away. You will need to get a bank draft in SGD under your name from Maybank MY. Fill up the form, drop by at the selected branch, tell them you want to open iSavvy account and they will do the rest. According to Maybank MY page, opening now need SGD5k but last I heard from Maybank SG, min is still SGD500. Don't forget your FACTA forms + income tax proof. Where to get the FACTA forms? You need to email Maybank SG for the forms.

3. Of course can. Unless you are related to xdb or you are dealing in drugs/weapons/human trafficking Keep in mind every time you transfer back and forth you will lose money. If done frequently, better your money stay in Malaysia. So think and plan carefully before you decide to move money over there

4. After sending over, wait one month, call them up and ask status of application. There will be no SMS/email/calls saying that your application is approved. You need to manually find out yourself.
