These are my stats:

Mode: ADSL2+
SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up 33.7/27.8
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up 26.0/7.1

I currently using 4MBPS package. Can I ask technician cap to 50XX with these stats with stable connection? I scared constant disconnect and unstable  icon_question.gif

I just need to call 100 and ask them set my downstream to 50xx right? Need to call my installer?

Someone help leh  cry.gif

You can call the 100 / installer but your chances to success would be very minimal as they will based on a few external factors such as you are not getting 70% of your desired speed then the adjustment of the downstream / upstream is possible.

Thanks

Can lie 1?  whistling.gif

You can lie to them but of course, they will also sending an technician to your location to run the speedtest so in the end if they are seeing your speed is close to 70% then they will treat this as invalid report and your request will be forfeited.

Btw if increase my cap to 5000 and above will increase my ping too right?
*
If you increasing your cap to 5024 kbps then most likely your speed will be increased but ping time to websites will remain the same. How much are you getting under 4Mbps plan?

to all sifu's: is that normal if i get 1.5MB at first after the technician came and set all the things...? need wait another 48 hrs 2 get 4Mb?
*
Yes, it is very normal because setting up jumper, account cap takes some time for them. I used to sign up with 4Mbps plan and I able to achieve 1.5MB or little more but they ask me to wait 2 working days to get 4MB. I'm now able to reach 3.5Mb without issues.

So just wait smile.gif

means i no need call 100 if i wan faster? cos normally no call they will do things slower... need suggestion  sweat.gif
*
You don't need to call 100 / Installer because normally they would tell you the same thing or ask you to contact the installer. 48 hours to get a full speed is a normal procedure as far as I recalled.

Just bear with them for another 2 days and I'm sure you will see the difference of your speed.

Thanks smile.gif

I called level 2 support but they claimed that they cannot upgrade my account although my port is upgraded by technician to 4XXX downstream which is why I'm getting speeds of about 1.5-1.7 mbps. My account is actually still capped at 1mbps  mad.gif

They can't upgrade then who can? Now I have an open report and they passed it on to some department.  sad.gif
*
Please provide the date & time you request to upgrade your plan to 4MB and when did the installer came over to appoint you?

About last wednesday via a reputable member here - ahcheap. He submitted my registration and installer told me he's done everything on his side and I need to make a report  sad.gif
Installer came last Friday.

What should I say to my installer now to increase my cap to 5012 AND retain my DSL mode to FAST instead of getting INTERLEAVED? I think it's a great time now since I'm barely getting 2MBPS [Yeah, account is capped, that's the problem, but hey, I want extra speed once it's uncapped sweat.gif ]

Thanks, you're really helpful  laugh.gif

If the installer already visited your premise last Friday, in logical manner - 48 hours ( 2 days) would be most likely Tuesday or latest by Wednesday but since it is now already Thursday but your are still being capped at 2Mbps, please call 100 and report to them.

Make sure you make some keynote to them that you are subscribed to 4Mbps package however you are being capped at 2Mbps which really doesn't make sense at all as SKMM / MCMC has compliance that all the ISP needs to achieve at least 70 - 80% of the desired speed which is 3.2 - 3.5Mbps.

Once you told them about this, they should know what they need to do on their end but usually report will be generated to pass this to the concern department to assist you further. As far as I know, there will be a special department which handle 4Mbps account so it may be better if you can have them to transfer you to them.

No matter what, just insist because you paid for 4Mbps and only getting 2Mbps.

Let me know how it goes smile.gif

Seriously, 2Mbps is better than 4Mbps with lesser DC

I don't get frequent DC so it might be location wise.

While doing speed test, I can get a short burst of around 3.8Mbps download speed, then it gradually slows down as shown on the following screen capture:

Does that mean I got the so called 4Mbps already?  ohmy.gif

Here's my final result:  shakehead.gif

My installer said 24 hours to get the right speed, some forumers here said 48 hours, anyway, I will give them 48 hours before calling 100.
EDIT: Got the promised speed this morning...  rclxms.gif

Told ya it will usually takes a few days to obtain the real results however the speed for downloading will gradually slows down to lesser than 1Mbps sometimes or i should say MOST of the time. They are too good at throttling the speed but speedtest will always shows a good speed.

Hi unicode, you are right, I just tried TM Speedometer and it is slower than SpeedTest.net
What do you mean about speed slowing down issue?
Do you mean it will slowing down per file / per download or you mean the speed will be slowing down day by day?  blink.gif
So sorry to heard that, SnowFLak3s, I think what you can do now is to keep calling 100 to bother them.  sad.gif

The speed will frequently slowing down per download or per file from time to time. Its very very weird because they seems to doing it purposely to make extra space for others user.
