Just installed the 4Mbps package yesterday. Blockbuster Deals.

SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up 29.5/16.8
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up 47.5/22.2

I am getting 175.145 ip.

Is that acceptable? As far as I know, the attenuation should not exceed 40dB and the SNR margin should at least be 30dB. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm in Langkawi, and about 2.37KM from the TM HQ.
So far so good, no disconnection whatsoever.

But now I'm capped @ 2Mbps. The installer said that TM need 48hrs to setup my 'port' for 4Mbps.
Is that true @ common? They said that currently my area only have 2Mbps users.

Just now I re-checked my modem and it says:

SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up 29.4/27.3
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up 35.0/11.6

How can this happen? Attenuation drops quite drastically from 47.5dB -->35.0dB.

Same here 4Mbps 'not activated yet'.

Heck, even my surfing/download speed sometimes are capped @ around 20-25kBps on a 2Mbps line. See below:



How come upload rate is better than download rate? I'm testing this with no other connection active.
Maybe it is just me, but it suc*s.

Yeah. I'm well aware of that. Tha's why I subscribe VPN for 365 days!
But still.. TM Seems to cap my speed at a certain time in a day.

Even for surfing. Speedtest results are around 20-25kBps.

yup. even with vpn i still get that speed (20-25kBps)
well, this is weird. as far as i know, vpn remove all the throttling and capping whatsoever.
or am i missing something here?
