and some of the rumors said that ATi is preparing to release highest end of their HD5000 Series - ATi HD 5970 with 256 bit Memory Bus brows.gif

Let say my unit come with 500gb hdd and i change to SSD.

Will this void the warranty of the laptop?
*
nope at all. in fact, for M17x, there is special compartment that specifically dedicated to RAM and HDD, so we can easily upgrade/downgrade it smile.gif

Thanks.

But my previous laptop Toshiba, at the screw part it do have a warranty sticker on it.
if we open the screw and caused the sticker to tear off, it would void the warranty.

Not sure whether alienware have that kind of sticker or not hmm.gif
*
yes, Alieware have that sticker but its stick on the CPU and mobo only. i don't really remember about GPU, but i do think there is none.

to access CPU, mobo and GPU, you have to open the touch panel and keyboard, where the step are quite complicated. thats why Alienware separate the compartment of RAM and HDD so we can access easily without any hassle smile.gif

I understand about the turbo boost thing...the thing is, will it have any huge difference between those two especially while gaming? I actually thinking of getting an M11x but i need to know the difference in performance between those two CPU. Actually, I just wanna save a couple of bucks tongue.gif
*
little effect or almost unnoticeable improvement for gaming since game engine will utilize GPU more instead of CPU.

is it safe to say that wether it's i3 or i5 for the m11x, the performance while gaming is not much different?

Added on August 3, 2010, 7:46 pm

What about games like CoH & Red Alert 3? will it run smoothly on full setting?
*
seriously, take i5. its better than i3 but slightly lower than i7. price is kinda sweet too.

How many days usually it takes for them to acknowledged the order? Got a phone call from bank and authorized it yesterday, so I thought I should be receiving an email from them today..Hopefully nothing goes wrong...:/
*
since you got the phonecall from bank yesterday, i believe your unit is already in the assembly process already. and don't believe https://cs.ap.dell.com/support/orderstatus/....aspx?c=my&l=en too much. the process is much faster than that. you will see from the website that its still on transit stage when you already receive SMS from Dell courier that they will send your item a day after that laugh.gif

I mean well, the bank called me and asked for my permission, so yes I'd think that the payment should be authorized and I should receive an acknowledged email from dell right?
*
nope. call from Bank is the last thing that Dell need before the assembly process started smile.gif

just check your tracking number occasionally, i believe it will be updated by tomorrow morning smile.gif
