hmm.. dissapointed that desire doesnt hv a front facing camera though.. coz i sometimes do video call..
wondering if it is possible to do a video call with the desire??
coz some phones can do video call without front facing camera.. just that the person cant see u but use the back camera instead..

The actual amount avaible for you to install apps on the I9000 Galaxy S is just 1.8GB, another 200MB seems to be used by the OS. And the other 6GB will be free for you to store music,  video and other stuff. From the review I read, Desire only have 100+ MB for apps installation. If you can wait for Froyo, then should be OK since it allows apps to be install on the memory card, but still need to wait for long time.

The Desire initial promise 720p video recording and Divx support also not yet been realised. And all this features, is already available for Galaxy S, but the price will be higher, and not sure will local telcos will carry them or not.
*
1.8gb is still way more than 100mb.. yea.. froyo has apps to sd.. but this option is more as a choice for the developer rather than user
i am afraid some developers might not be so willing to move their files to the SD card.. for fear of piracy maybe? just a thought

but i loaded an empty backup.. as if it never backs up my stuffs... ive factory resetted after about 5days of usage.. thats y im asking is there a way to force a backup since it didnt automatically back up on mine..

found a 3rd party app named My Backup Pro.. havent tried it though... i factory resetted mine cuz im running out of space to install game and etc.. after reset i got about 140mb of space.. now installed about 4 HD games from gameloft and still have about 50mb left which is quite neat indeed..
*

btw.. why must you hard reset to gain more space? is it because you are unable to uninstall the games completely??

QUOTE(maliqu3 @ Jun 8 2010, 04:55 AM)
guys, too bad for iphone fans (including me). when i was still thingking of buying desire or iphone, now i have decided who is the winner. I just read the preview about iphone 4 (it's not iphone 4g btw). honestly, it's not what i was expected for new generation of iphone. i gotta say that iphone 4 sucks for this time (better get desire).

negatives of iphone 4:
- same size of screen (3.5" only)
- still uses TFT screen (when all the new smarthphones have used amoled or even super amoled)
- secondary camera can only be used between iphone over wifi (cant use 3g) -- it's totally useless then
- uses microSIM (smaller size of SIM Card that we are using now) -- it makes us difficult if we want to use another phone using the same SIM Card
- no stereo for video recording
- no radio

i think that's all for now about the negatives of new iphone 4. we will know more when it has been released and reviewed. no offense, but i guess desire is still much better than iphone 4.
*
wat u mean by no stereo for video recording?

how about positives?
*
quite a number actually.. longer battery life.. very high resolution and 720p HD recording at 30fps.. these in particular is better than desire

This is actually a plus , Iphone 4 using IPS screen , which is better than Amoled . IPS as in the tech used in high end LCD . 960x640 reso too
- secondary camera catfn only be used between iphone over wifi (cant use 3g) -- it's totally useless then

Only for 2010 , they are sorting out the 3G with mobile carriers .

- no stereo for video recording

But its in 720p , name me how much smartphone can record on stereo lol .
Oh , and who cares about radio . 10 Hours of wifi means constant web radio streaming also no problem . Not to say that I'm leaning to Iphone 4 , but the negatives point you said clearly isnt valid .
*
are you sure? i thought the amoled is better than ips.. it is used in samsung latest tv sets..
the only reason apple didnt use it is bcoz of costt n availability of stock considering thee massive demand for an iphone

Yesterday when I just got is super smooth... Theres something bugging me.. Even i've uninstalled all apps, if I did used the camera earlier, it lags... After a reboot, if I don't use the camera, it works perfectly fine
*

You must have been reading the info from some person who can't even get their facts right or you must have missed it.
LED flash comes with the iPhone 4. And its 4... not 4G. Theres a drastic difference between the 2 terms.
*
definitely he meant browser flash support bro
LED flash or not, not much difference.. both phones has flash
n dun mind him saying 4G or 4.. we get wat he is trying to say n wat he was referring to

Totally disagree here. I think Iphone UI is easier to navigate. Inter-related programs are linked together, like Contacts, Call Logs, Keypad etc. Desire one is a big question mark.
*
depends on ur preference i guess.. most ppl here choose the android UI with HTC sense as it is easy to use and most importantly freely CUSTOMIZABLE
they can have various scenes depending on their mood.. diff sms apps or watever part of the phone they would like to change
they are also tired of the same interface look that the iphone has been using since years ago..
HTC sense also allows linkage of all the information u hv frm a particular contact in one screen
all emails, sms, phone calls, facebook updates, twitter.. all in one place linked in the contact info.. (no question mark at all about this)
so again.. personal preference

1. of coz cannot..if u r in 3g area then u get 3g or 3.5g.else u get E..or u just turn off 3g and use 2g for all the time..and i don think it will drain ur battery a lot...jsut a normal changing which every mobile phone also experience it
*
i think u can off 3g mode and just use the 2g line all the time.. the phone wont search for 3g line.. u can switch it on when u wanna use 3g line.. right?
