Hi, i'm looking for a good portable laptop for uni use, probably surfing and document editing, but would be nice if I could continue my games on my laptop, but priority is portablility. Budget would be about RM2500 limit.
So far, after some research at notebookcheck, I was thinking about the vostro V13, especially the ubuntu version with 4gb of ram. Do you think I could easily sell the 4gb ram, and buy a 2gb sodimm to get some savings?
I mean, it has zero gaming capabilities, but it seems so portable, being light and tiny and all...
Or are there any other good laptops that are around the price range of the v13? Don't really care about the brand, as long as it's good...
Thanks!

Is the best value gaming laptop still the Asus A42JV? Or is there a newer, better model? Particularly as the gt4xx series is coming out....
Thanks!

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Sep 12 2010, 10:46 PM) the thing is, you want the cheapest gaming machice? or the best bang for buck ie money to performance ratio = highest. the Best value gaming laptop is the Sager NP8960 which comes with a 5870 GDDR5 card @ RM4.2k the next one would be the Asus A42JA which comes with i7 740QM + ATi HD5730 @ RM3599 then its the A42Jv which is around RM2.5k the 5650 version comes with 6 hr battery life. cause this version is available in singapore. They also have the 3820TG with 5650, 13" laptop. Ah, I meant the best bang for the buck gaming machine among the lower-mid price (rm2000-3000) laptops. I guess the A42Jv still dominates in that category...
