Shiny doesn't mean its good o tongue.gif
Toshiba notebooks with glossy surfaces can "attract" fingerprints faster than CSI laugh.gif

lack of competition on 13''?
*
I agree, even for those (DELL notebooks) with CULV processors. Been having a headache recommending friends (who like DELL alot) a 13' notebook laugh.gif
DELL Inspiron 13z
SU4100+ GMA x4500+ 3 year (in home) warranty --> RM2686
SU7300+ G105M + 3 year (in home) warranty --> RM3236

ASUS UL30Vt
SU7300+ G210M/GMA x4500 + Free 2 year warranty --> RM2999 (or cheaper)

My friends don't want the extra GC on ASUS LOL, saying that they won't be using it at all rclxub.gif
I feel DELL's pricings for these notebooks are not competitive enough, especially after the announcement of the ~RM2900 XPS 16 notworthy.gif
Makes people Feel like customers are paying more for less haha (From a gamer's POV) icon_rolleyes.gif

Then you might want to import Asus UL30A, though pricing don't know will be cheaper or not tongue.gif
*
Eh, I've never seen an ASUS UL30A before rclxub.gif Has it been around for quite some time already?

Even the DELL Vostro V13
SU7300 + GMA x4500 + Ubuntu + 3 years warranty --> RM2776 (quite close to the range of the UL30Vt already)

Hmm, the M301z is not bad at all nod.gif Thanks for intro~ After warranty is RM2286 laugh.gif
Notebookcheck estimated that the performance of the processor to be poorer than SU4100 and S7300... Don't know true or not, hopefully not cry.gif
Integrated ATi Mobility Radeon™ HD 4225 is better than GMA?

Speaking of DELL Inspiron 11z, I was wondering where I can actually see a display unit in KL/PJ?
Most shops are only displaying the new Inspiron R notebooks. Couldn't find any 11z or 13z cry.gif
Just wana have a feel of the comfortability of the keyboard and also see whether the materials will wear off under prolong usage or not hmmm hmm.gif

Can consider
Acer 1830TZ, 11.6'', U5400 + GMA HD@RM1899
Toshiba T110, 11.6'', SU4100 + GMA 4500MHD@RM2299
*
Yeah, the T110 should be better than the 11z since it runs on DDR3 RAM, and it does not have glossy keyboard buttons like all other Toshiba units rclxms.gif

Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply.

I just happened to see an PC Fair Promo from Toshiba.

Toshiba Satellite L645-1052X come with 4gb DDR3 SDRam at RM 2799

The Major difference between this model and ASUS A42JV is the graphic card i think.

So, wondering which performs better?

Thanks
*
Haha, definitely ASUS rclxms.gif

Hi,

Anyone can suggest me?
Brand: Toshiba
Budget: less than 3k
Specs: core2 duo or newer, HDMI(optional but prefered), no high spec gaming but more on multitasking.
Size: Weight - lighter is better

I found these 3 but i'm not sure about the pro and con, hope anyone here can advice.

For the Portege T210 and T230, I think its best if you can see the real thing before making up your mind. They are very ugly sweat.gif
Some shops are already displaying them nod.gif
Personally I would prefer the Asus UL20FT which can be imported starting next month iirc icon_rolleyes.gif

Can anyone suggest me a decent notebook around the 3k-3.5k price point which is white in color? And no, not looking for Sony VAIO or Mac.
*
Can have a look at Toshiba Satellite L635, L645, M500 and as Mr. Lee suggested, M900. Or can take a look at Toshiba Portege T210, T230 for long battery life nod.gif

All built in speaker has their limit or can say almost the same. If want good sound quality must invest on external speaker.

Try harman/kardon... they are at a totally different level drool.gif

In terms of specs the G460 should be the best nod.gif
But for battery life and superior design, definitely the U460 drool.gif

The problem with the U460 that I've noticed is that the Fn key and Ctrl key is inversely placed T_____T (corrected: only present in U160 model)
It may look like a very tiny problem but still it brings about a huge impact haha laugh.gif

Still, the design is even better than the Asus U series rclxms.gif

Urgent help please ,I'm leaving tomorrow and my dad surprised me that he'll replaced my long lost destroyed laptop TODAY,
the only specs i'm looking is SMALL and POWERFUL .
Under 1.5k if that's possible .
Screen size , less than 13 because I travel most of the time and I can't bear to carry heavy laptop everywhere .

thank you smile.gif
*
Can take a look at Dell M101z (11.6inch), Eee PC 12xx series (12.1inch) laptops, should be around RM1.5k. Slightly larger than usual 10.1 inch netbooks but more powerful icon_rolleyes.gif

wanna buy laptop for casual usage,
not travelling too much but from penang to PJ,Doesnt really bring laptop to starbucks regularly.
wanna look for smth that is good for watching movie, Gaming (PES / Football manager), Multimedia usage and surf net.
considering 14 inch and 15inches does it really make so much diff and wont the graphic over 15' be worse than 14"

Is Asus A42JV or A52JC good enough for me d?
any recommendation ? considering Fujitsu & toshiba also.
budget about RM2700 or less
*
If not travelling a lot than 15 inchers would be fine =)
Still, its better to go for Asus A42Jv la, better speced- definitely will suit your needs haha laugh.gif
