QUOTE(matyeo @ May 26 2010, 03:23 AM) for pioneer VSX LX-52 - RM 5K++ or RM6k (not sure) SC LX-72 - RM7K (confirm) SC LX-82 - RM8K (confirm) Walau.. ELITE indeed.. if spend so much on an avr which has a very short shelf life [ I mean if hdmi 1.4 or newer tech cums along..] , I d prefer spendin it on better spkrs.. I d get a midrange avr - pair it wif decent pwr amps [pwr amps never go out of style].. once time to upgr .. at least its a 2/3k loss compared to wat is listed abv.. But then again, I m a peasant.. D

Hi.. One more option is to get a decent last gen avr [ no hd odo ] like say a yammy 1400 or sumtin like tat.. use de pre ins n pair wif ur pwr amp n presto u got hd odo.. I hv seen previous 'gems' goin for a few hundred only n since its a mid or hi end model - even wif its age shld still gv a few more yrs use since u dont really nid de amp section anyway.. Downside is ur vdo section is strght up frm player.. not tat tat is bad, jus a bit inconvenient if u hv more than one source.. Added on May 27, 2010, 12:15 pmQUOTE(htkaki @ May 26 2010, 10:29 PM) If your speakers are highly efficient, then a power amp will only improves AQ marginally or even no perceivable difference at all. I had a customer who owns a spkr sys that are so power efficient (ave : 96dB Sensitivity, 8 ohm) that he noticed almost no difference when he bought a 5x 200W pwr amp to take the load of his 130W x 7 av rcvr. Well.. If really wan to utilise all tat pwr can oso bi amp mah.. D This post has been edited by dirtrun: May 27 2010, 12:16 PM
