Decent. Black levels are mediocre...Colour reproduction not that great. S shaped gamma. No proper backlight control, doubles up as a contrast. There are better LED backlit sets out there. The Koreans are the ones to beat in terms of LCD (&LED backlit LCDs) for the price vs performance criteria. Of course the other Japanese brands are pretty decent as well. But bang for a buck, the Koreans are the ones to beat.

Since I am the only one who actually commented, I'm going to assume u mean me. But I did not say not good, I said decent. My main gripe was the black levels and the fact that there was not proper contrast control. The colour reproduction while not being great (only becoz the green is undersaturated and there is no proper control to fix the luminance issue on some of the colours) is better than the X and the U series plasmas. Also the gamma tracking is S shaped but at least it is closer to 2.2 than their low end plasmas. So, there are positives, its just that more is expected from Panny. Their LED backlit set's black levels are higher (meaning worse) than the competitors CCFL backlit LCDs. 2 professional reviews confirmed the black levels. So I really don't think its fluke. If the local sets (asian) sets have the pro mode that allows the calibration of greyscale and 1D CMS in the user menu, that's a big plus.

i'm with anfieldude on the dissapointing poor black level of this new panny led lcd. i seen it with my own eyes a couple of days ago

i bet strategy wise , panasonic being a major plasma tv manufacturer ain't gonna produce something to beat its own best and sell-able products just as sammy won't produce good black level for its plasma models. the real black filters are only available for its 8000 series
