spec: c2d 1.63ghz, 2gb ram, 8400m gs 256mb graphic card, win 7 pro

i want to buy an external monitor to make my system a dual screen because i have been working with more and more things and need more viewing spaces

i intend to get this monitor Samsung B2230H/B2330H  21.5" or 23" inch.

my primary resolution is 1280x800. if I connect to this external monitor thru VGA port from my laptop, is it possible to have an extended screen and maximum resolution of 1920x1080 from the secondary monitor?
