(http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/pc-peripherals-printer/monitor/lcd-monitor/LS23PUHKFV/XS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=specification) my primary resolution is 1280x800. if I connect to this external monitor thru VGA port from my laptop, is it possible to have an extended screen and maximum resolution of 1920x1080 from the secondary monitor? pls advise. thanks!

If the external monitor supports the resolution, then it should be able to.
Best for you to bring your laptop along so you can try it out with the shop's display unit to confirm before purchasing.

Depend on your graphic chip/card whether it can support such high resolution or not ....

from the website.. (http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8M_techspecs.html) QUOTE Dual integrated 400MHz RAMDACs for analog display resolutions up to and including 2048x1536 at 85Hz this is the max resolution using analog... so do you think it can support 1920 x 1080? and this laptop is about 2.5 years old already D; which i think is older than the 1080p technology... isnt it? I think should be ok but if you using VGA, why you need such a large resolution anyway. The picture won't be nice. Best is go for lower resolution to optimize your value.
