Is it possible to call TM to ask when the installer will come?
I subscribed to this CoolUniPack package with new TM Homeline. The socket for new TM Homeline was installed at the same place as the old Homeline as that place is the best for WiFi modem. That means the new and the old home phone were put together. I never think to do that (call installer to come) before. But, I never realize that both my new and old home phone has the same ringtone. I never tell anyone about my new TM Homeline number. That means only TM staff and the installer know my new phone number. Just now, one of the phone ring. Due to the similarity in ringtone + I don't know which one is ringing as there is no indicator, I answered the wrong phone (old phone). When I realized that I answered the wrong phone and the one ringing is the new phone, it is too late when I pick up the new phone, means I missed the call. I am worry that the call may be from the installer. So, is it possible to call TM? As stated in the first page of this thread, if the applicant is not contactable or unreachable within 1 month, the application will be canceled. And, today, thursday, is the only day in a week which I will be at home for the whole day as no class. That means the installer can only come on today. Hello! I have a question here.
Lets say I subscribed to CoolUniPack 2mbps package and my college has signed the subscription form and is now using 2mbps, but my area support 4mbps, later if I want to upgrade to 4mbps, is there a need to get the form for my college to sign again? Can I just sign by myself? |

So, TM is giving HP 110 for this package right? According to the link in post #1861, the battery is 3 cells. The 6 cells battery is optional. Can we pay more to HP so that they give us the 6 cells one?

For the speaker. If it is mono and you don't like it, either buy a headphone or USB speaker.

QUOTE(guestaccount @ Jun 27 2010, 10:16 PM) I don't mind about their speaker lar, what i care is their lcd screen, touchpad, HD support, and hard disk speed, the rest i don't care much lar Ok. Don't misunderstood. I am not insulting someone. Just tell the solution about the mono speaker. No offence. This post has been edited by cshong: Jun 27 2010, 10:18 PM |

For those who want recovery discs for the netbook, please note that HP, together with other computer manufacturers, not providing recovery CD anymore for all computer products. However, they should have already bundled the software to create recovery DVD. You just need to spend some $$ to buy an external DVD burner, then burn your own recovery DVD by using the bundled software. I had done this on my new Acer laptop with the internal DVD burner.
You are still encouraged to do this. Because if you don't do this, and something happened affect the recovery partition, then you cannot recover your computer by yourself. |

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Jun 28 2010, 11:33 AM) The bundled software will automatically choose the files and burn to the DVD, you no need to select it by yourself. You cannot use any third party software like Nero or whatever to burn.Like my Acer laptop, there is a software called Acer eRecovery Management, which I can use to create recovery discs. What I did is log on to Windows by using administrator account, insert blank DVD, run the software, there are options, 1 is create recovery discs, another one is just driver and application disc, just choose what I want and the software automatically burn the related files to DVD. That is it. Of course, in my case, need to prepare 4 DVDs, 3 for system recovery purpose and another 1 for drivers and softwares. |

QUOTE(zac1 @ Jun 28 2010, 10:17 PM) KFC has to restart the access point to get you connect again. This happens with the Streamyx Zone in my college. When I cannot connect, I must contact the ICT department in my college, then the staff will restart the access point.I think the access point is provided by TM. The suck one is the access point. QUOTE(McRyan @ Jun 29 2010, 10:32 AM) You can set your netbook to boot from network if you don't have external CD-ROM. But, this require you to have other computer, and require a lot of configuration. The easiest way is to buy an external USB CD/DVD drive, plug it to your netbook, insert Windows XP cd, go into your netbook's bios setting and set your netbook to boot from your USB CD/DVD drive, that's it. But, before you do it, BE SURE TO CREATE RECOVERY DISCS FIRST. And, I suggest you people to stick with Windows 7. Microsoft will soon end support for Windows XP. Later, you will see more and more software developers stop releasing the product that support Windows XP. |
