I just registered for a 1mbps coolunipack package. The guy said the available slots in my area are limited, and so he advised me to apply for 1mbps first, and once the slots open up, to upgrade to 4mbps. By upgrading I'm still entitled to the coolunipack rate of RM88 right?

Btw, I just noticed under the telephone line application copy, I have a "Talian telefon - 4km" to be charged RM25 per month. isn't this supposed to be waived?

Hey guys simple question. I applied for a new homeline and new streamyx account, do I need to pay for the monthly homeline rental? I was udner the impression that the fee would be waived.

How long should I expect to wait before the technician comes to setup my phone line?

OK the tm guys came to install my phone line today. Assuming the phone line is activated in 2 days, when can I expect the streamyx guys to appear at my doorstep? Do I need to call tmnet to notify them that my phone line has been activated. I know I shouldn't have to, but this is tmnet...

Yay my streamyx was just installed. Young Chinese guy came to do it. Weird, since I've only ever seen Malays coming from tmnet. I asked him about this and he said tmnet now hires subcontractors. Reason, he said, is because tmnet received multiple complaints that they only send Malays. LOL

Anyway, my modem is the Riger one. Which is better, this or innacomm?

I got a Linksys WAG120N as well. Basic wireless modem-router from Linksys. But it doesnt show my SNR margin and line attenuation. At least the Riger does.

Linksys looks sleek though. Riger looks... chapalang.

I now have two homelines. I tried the old phone line and my SNR margin was 15.5, tried the newly installed line and it was around 13. What gives?

Hmm, do what you think about people like me who registered last week and just got our streamyx activated yesterday? Will we get the netbook for sure?

I just called 1800-88-6998, pressed 2 for order status. My order has not been processed yet, and the guy told me to call the same number, press 1 and ask the sales dept. But all of them are too busy to answer. Please, let the netbook be mine. I signed up for the netbook. It's the sole reason. I already have a streamyx account in my home (under my dad's name) paying RM77 monthly, and this coolunipack wouldnt be worth it without the netbook. Even if I'm only paying RM68 per month, the RM85 paid upon registration + RM160 for the internal wiring would render it worthless.

I got a maybe OT question here. Hope you guys dont mind. I have the Riger modem, where is the function in the web interface that lets you disconnect/reconnect the ADSL connection? Lazy to reboot the modem or take out the cable and plug it back in.

Anyone experience slow wifi speeds with the Riger modem? I havent tried it, but my mom says her wifi speed is slower than before.

I called HP this afternoon. The lady on the line said my order will ship today, and told me it would arrive within 14 days. She said the order number hasnt been generated, and to call back tomorrow if I still want to know my number. I dont think I need an order number anyway, since I live in the klang valley and if as they say my order was shipped today, it would most probably arrive at my doorstep tomorrow or latest by wednesday, right?

Btw, do I need to sign for it in person, or can anyone at my house sign for it for me? Does the delivery guy call before making the delivery? I might not be home.

meh... my HP order status page was last updated on the 8th on June.

I'm trying to get the URL filter on my Riger to work, but every time I input a URL with port number 80 and click 'add', it doesn;t just block the website I want blocked, it blocks EVERY website, and I suspect this is because port 80 is used by browsers. How do I get it to work?

P/S: The port number cannot be left blank, it will auto-assign 80 if it is blank. I tried randomly putting another port number and it wont block any websites then.

I was on 1mbps before coolunipack and was capped at 1.5mbps as well. My area does not have 2mbps or 4mbps. After getting coolunipack I'm still on 1.5mbps.

Anyway the technician said my area can techinically support 4mbps as there are fiber optic cables lying around unused. He says tmnet are lazy to implement it.

Isn't it 14 WORKING days?

Anyway, I checked the HP online tracker and my netbook is slated to arrive today, but the tracker hasnt been updated with anything new since tuesday. Is there a separate tracking service in tiong nam's website? Thier website is full of shipping jargon and clicking on them doesn't show anything lol.
