For me LCD are just oversized computer screens......go for plasma and LED smile.gif

Anyway, that package you mention is still expensive....

Don't think it is wise to rush for a big tv since you are going to pay for quite a substantial amount of money for it

If I were you, I will do the below:

1. Identify which size to get with your current viewing distance
2. Go to the shop to check out the tv, best if could compare side by side then list down the models you are interested
3. Compare the specs and features offered and the their prices
4. Survey around these models and read through their reviews for pros and cons against your priority for the tv
5. Narrow it down to the final 1 or 2 models and seek feedbacks on these models from the existing owners if available
6. Make final decision to pull the trigger

Asking an open question on which tv to get will make you more confused at the end, worse your thread might be get hijacked for irrelevant debate again tongue.gif

If you source is only from Astro, I think Plasma is a better buy as most of Astro's channel are still in SD..

Do you intend to subscribe to Astro Byond? If yes then Plasma. If not then CRT is best for Astro.

That's true...Astro SD channels looks so much better in CRT.

But if you must, then I recommend LG's 50PJ350R or 42PJ350R plasma. 3,000,000 :1 contrast ratio, 600Hz Sub Field Drive. 3 HDMI ports, USB etc etc. Great value for the 50" at RM4K or less than 3K for the 42"
