Hi I came to think that the anti-virus that I'm currently using,AVG Free, does not come with enough protection. So I want to use another anti-virus software..

Is Kaspersky Internet Security good and reliable? If I choose this,I must uninstall AVG first before installing this right?

Instead on buying or going kaspersky trial, try Avira or Avast 5 (free one), or even MSE.... smaller download size....

@TiF, a good place to start is http://www.av-comparatives.org ... for others, ask unker Gugel....

my question to TS is, how is AVG not enough protection? I've been using it on some of my pc for n-years and not a time my pc was infected by virus/malware.

Either one is good or Norton 2010 is also good choice smile.gif

Either of it,all have good, complete and competitive protection.

yes, u wil require to uninstall ur AVG free 1st b4 u install another antivirus.
for free antivirus, i would suggest avast, avira, or MSE, for paid version, go for nod32 or NIS, kaspersky internet security is not bad.

Better go for Avast! 5 Free .. smile.gif

File/Web/Mail/IM/P2P/Network/Behavorial Shield smile.gif

Pair it up with the built in Windows Vista/7 Firewall it would be like an Internet Security oredi smile.gif

BTW, there's no perfect AV/IS .. So you may keep MalwareBytes Anti Malware in your PC to scan ur system once a month/if you feel ur PC infected just in case the AV/IS missed anything.. It doesn't provide real-time protection so won't consume any resource.

from my experience, esetnod uses the the least memory while giving satisfactory protection, it would be a good choice if you want to change your av smile.gif

and with a lot of false detection. For instance if I start to tamper some memory location or some dll file it thinks its a virus and blocks it.

Hi Prasys,

not entirely true if you check the Feb 2010 FP report.
http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stor...report25_fp.pdf

Avira has superb detection with lower FP now. thumbup.gif

Avira successfully lowered their FP this year. GOOD JOB! thumbup.gif
