just now i was in TimeSquare 1st floor Starbucks.
no Maxis HSDPA in there, only has Edge. (noaday i refrain my self from connect free public wifi because of bad experience)
last time checked Digi, Celcom all don't have HSDPA.
Only U Mobile has HSDPA in there.

edge speed reli slow eh...consisder changing to umobile?
*
umobile download speed is very fast but upload speed is only 50kbs (more or less).
the coverage area also limited.
i often travel around (to johor, penang, kuantan, ...etc)
say in the middle of the highway somewhere near Tangkak or near Taiping (tempat rehat RR) want to check email.....you can do that with Maxis, Celcom or Digi but umobile broadband's coverage not yet there.

my area unfortunately no p1..otherwise i would give it a shot.. rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

P1 modem is also powered by USB?
can bring the modem together with the laptop with us where ever we go?
but no information on upload speed only has download speed (600kb/s for the RM59 package)

The RM89 package is very attractive.
1.5Mb/s download speed and 15GB data quota compare to Digi RM88 explore package which is only 700kb/s and 10GB quota.

around 90% uptime
pretty impressive i would say

i used to do that also,
while driving on PLUS highway, have my laptop connected to internet.
With Maxis BB, it will disconnect after the car move several kilometer.
You stop the car reconnect, start driving but it disconnect again after few kilometer driving.

I tried with Digi also, Digi is more stable, seldom disconnect but you can't do much thing under gprs.
Just have the email page loaded.

mine's still gud...but their promotion reli take off like a booster rocket...kudos to them... smile.gif 5 months subscription and u get a free modem..digi and all needs at least 1 year.. doh.gif

i switch to Maxis because Maxis have widest coverage.
even small town also has HSDPA coverage and it is above 1.5Mb/s download speed for all package (whether it is RM48/month or RM68/month or RM98/month or RM178/month). rclxms.gif
(last i checked)

I am wondering is it something wrong with the prepaid broadband recently?
sometimes I cannot connect to the prepaid broadband page ~ sometimes this error message :" Error 500: Filter [State Cleanup]: filter is unavailable." will come out. damn frustrated~
*
I have tried prepaid broadband (Hotlink) before also.
very often, although already activate the weekly plan.
when after connect, open browser, it only open the default page that is the prepaid broadband default page.
and no other website can be open.

need to disconnect, reconnect tried many time than only able to access other website.

maxis also stable than celcom..
*
the stability might depend on the USB HSDPA modem?
When i use Huawei E1762 that provided by Maxis, it quite often disconnect by it self.
but when i use ZTE MF100, it is more stable.
I got this ZTE MF100 when i signup U mobile last time but now i have cancel the account.

E1762 is a 3.75G modem max download speed 7.2Mb/s
ZTE MF100 is a 3.5G modem max download speed is 3.6Mb/s

sing-up in Maxis Centre http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/service/m...entre/index.asp
activate will be faster.

1st time i sign-up they activate my SIM card on the spot. (RM78/month, i cancel this account after 1 month)

than after 1 month i sign-up again (because the subscription fee has reduce and with free modem)
this time my SIM card got activated after 2 hours.

don't you all think RM68/month for 3GB data volume is too expensive.
I would rather use it to subscribe astro.
never mind without internet.
maybe get a lower cost one,
one low cost internet account for send/receive email that is all enough.

the cheapest would be RM48.00..for 2gb..youth lite package..
*
The cheapest one is Celcom broadband entry package

Celcom broadband entry package is RM38/month,
although speed is 256kb/s only and monthly usage volume is only 500MB
should be enough for send/receive email
but This package can only be subscribed along with any Celcom Voice Plan.
