I would like to know whether it is possible for account's stealing? This is because since last 2 days, I noticed that my quota was rapidly depleting eventhough I only used the service once or twice a day (just for light surfing, no heavy downloads or video streaming).
It is like somebody else is using my account eventhough I always keep my modem and simcard in secure place. The logged usage on the modem also show no increment. And it is very disappointed when I found out today that my account already reach its quota. When I used prepaid broadband before, it also happened that Maxis wrongly registered/recognised my mobile number when I went online (checked thru the Hotlink portal).

QUOTE(missingNo @ Apr 3 2011, 08:47 AM) I'm getting the same thing as you did! Got a message today sating I only have 100mb left, checking through portal stating that I only have 160mb. Can somebody clarify this?? I'm starting to doubt my action of moving to maxis. this is their respon regarding my complain : QUOTE Thank you for contacting Maxis. Our record shows that you have used 3.04 gigabyte from 21st March 2011 to date. While you are subjected to the subscribed volume quota of 3GB per month, it will be reset following your bill cycle date (21st of each month – next reset of data is on 21st April 2011). In the event that this volume is depleted, you may continue to browse the internet but will lead to a slow connection Kindly be advised that the Maxis Broadband package at 3GB is measured against uploading and downloading of every other internet site that is accessed at your end. Our system captures the upload and downloads data based on real-time. In view of this, the data provided is accurate. Here are the complete details of your broadband data usage for the said period. Date Total_MB 29 March 2011 06:34:54 512.5135 29 March 2011 04:51:22 14.3762 28 March 2011 22:05:09 0.8092 28 March 2011 15:52:43 44.9774 28 March 2011 07:27:01 1777.3036 28 March 2011 01:32:00 37.4879 27 March 2011 19:40:50 32.2931 26 March 2011 20:54:33 4.1956 26 March 2011 15:51:36 0.0003 25 March 2011 23:42:58 49.0089 25 March 2011 18:26:49 105.0854 25 March 2011 00:13:12 19.5658 24 March 2011 19:12:56 97.9789 23 March 2011 19:40:52 1.9121 23 March 2011 19:17:50 87.9222 22 March 2011 19:20:45 17.4697 22 March 2011 18:20:59 19.0221 22 March 2011 01:29:22 80.7306 21 March 2011 19:09:45 14.7643 21 March 2011 18:03:19 4.2181 21 March 2011 17:53:18 0.0000 21 March 2011 17:01:37 44.4337 21 March 2011 00:42:28 151.2392 All of the said data usage was originated from your SIM card. As far as security is concern, it had always been our top most priority and we would like to reiterate the SIM card is a unique device with a distinctive characteristic and it cannot be replicated or cloned. Therefore, there is no way for the usage to be remotely originated. We truly appreciate the time you have taken to bring this matter to our attention. Herein, we collectively conclude the above is final and our reply remains status quo. Should you require further assistance, you may call our Broadband Hotline at 1800 822 000. Thank you. if you look closely on the usage pattern, I'd never consume more than 200MB each time I went online. but on the last 2 days, the usage recorded increased drastically (500MB ++ and 1.7GB) and that means somebody else is using my number

QUOTE(JY. @ Nov 1 2011, 06:55 PM) Guys, anyone experience this with their maxis prepaid broadband, im using it with my ipad and my subscription for 30 days ended today, the web portal pops up asking me to topup before can use further, the thing is, the number displayed is not my sim card number and the previously bought subscription history is all not mine. What should i do now? Top up to my simcard number or topup to the number displayed? yeah, i faced this before when I subscribed to prepaid broadband before. dunno how on earth they could accidentally show a wrong number. plus, there was once a time when my quota suddenly finished off but i only used it for a day or two. i think they also wrongly 'registered' the number that time, and another person used mine. that's why the quota ran out very fast
