i am a barca fan and i am not trying to make a fuss here, but please dun simply believe www.goal.com.. More than half their transfer reports don't pan out..
Trust me not many barca fans want cesc coz he's gonna come overpriced and he's surplus to requirements.. We have other parts of the team to strengthen.. Know that only the big guns of the club wants to see thru the transfer so that they can win popularity of the members (fans)..

For Yaya Toure fans, sorry, he's not coming to Arsenal as he has (or Barca has) opted for a richer EPL club.

Toure sad to leave Barca, plans return
QUOTE
New Manchester City signing Yaya Toure admits he was sad to leave Barcelona but says he will return to the Catalan club one day.

Yaya Toure has joined his brother Kolo at Manchester City.

"I don't feel that I'm away from Barca and I'm sure I'll go back one day,'' he said.

City paid Barcelona around £27.5 million for Toure, who will reportedly become the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

"The decision to leave was complicated because Barca is the team of my whole life,'' he told radio station RAC-1. "It was a sad decision because everybody wants to come to Barca and I have had to leave, but not playing has been difficult and it wouldn't have been normal to just sit on the bench and pick up the money.''

Toure, who will link up with his brother Kolo at City, says his agent, Dimitri Seluk, was instrumental in the move.

"He told me I had to leave,'' he said. "I wanted to bring more joy to the fans, but life is like that. Barca is a great club with the best players in the world and I have played less in this third season, which for me has been difficult.''

Yes, I agree that goal.com is not the most trusted source in the WWW but how about soccernet? hmm I'm lazy to dig up too much news but I guess one (recent one) will do the justice wink.gif

Pique: Cesc wearing Barca shirt in his heart
QUOTE
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is dreaming of playing at the Camp Nou next season and in his heart he's "already wearing a Barcelona shirt", according to his Spain team-mate Gerard Pique.

• Barca won't 'go crazy' for Cesc

Fabregas, who came through the Barca youth system with Pique, has been speaking openly to La Roja's sizeable contingent of Barcelona players whilst on World Cup duty and has made his feelings very clear.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been a long-term target for the Spanish side, who had a €35 million bid rejected by Arsenal earlier this summer, and Fabregas sees his future at the Camp Nou.

"I have known that Cesc wanted to join Barcelona for many years - but now it is more than about wanting to do it," Pique told the Daily Star Sunday. "Now it is something he feels he must do.

"The World Cup has not been a good thing for Arsenal. It has meant that he has been spending every day with myself, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Victor Valdes - and he has made his feelings very clear to us.

"He is keeping his mind focused on Spain but his heart is in Barcelona. I think already in his heart he is wearing a Barcelona shirt next season."

New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has openly targeted Fabregas as a summer signing but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told French journalists that his captain isn't for sale at any price.

Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola will sign a new contract at the club, Barca vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed.

"We have been talking to his agent for two days,'' Bartomeu said. "We have an agreement and it just needs to be formalised when Pep returns from Africa.

"I hope he is here for many years, but right now we are ironing out the last details and until it is signed, we cannot say how long Guardiola will be in charge of the first team."

If only I could read Spanish, I might be able to show more wink.gif

And another one:

Messi keen to be reunited with Fabregas
QUOTE
Lionel Messi  has become the latest Barcelona star to state his admiration for Cesc Fabregas and hopes he will be reunited with his former team-mate this summer.

Lionel Messi wants Cesc Fabregas to return to Barcelona

Barcelona have seen a €35 million offer for Fabregas rejected but it is believed that the midfielder has made it clear to Arsenal he feels the time is right to return the club he left as a 16-year-old in 2003.

Xavi, Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique have all spoken of their hope that Barcelona will reach agreement with Arsenal and Messi is also keen to link up once again with a fellow graduate of Barca's La Masia academy.

"I would like to play with Cesc again because I know him like [Gerard] Pique [from the youth team]," Messi told Sport. "We shared many things at that moment, when we coincided in Barca's youth team, and I know what he can give on the pitch.

"It would be special to be reunited with Cesc in the same team, in the same way that it happened with Pique when he returned from his spell at Manchester United.

"We're in contact. We speak and sometimes we send each other messages. He wants to come to Barcelona and we're all waiting to see what will happen. I hope he ends up coming and that we can play together again.

"Nobody imagined that one day we could all be together in Barcelona's first team, especially when Cesc and Pique left. For us to be together again would be special, a lovely situation for those of us that were there back then."

One solid game and you guys are fapping over Eduardo?

If you saw Almunia for the first 20 mins against Barcelona in the Champs League last year, you'd be fapping too right?

Keepers' form can be very sporadic and its sometimes difficult to judge one in such a short amount of time.

I may be wrong, and I hope I'm wrong, but lets not get overexcited guys.

He's performing not only in WC. Past 18 games for country conceeded only 3 goals. Also, Julio Ceaser (Brazil GK, Serie A Goalkeeper of Year 2009) praises him. Link

For 3.4mil, age 27, 1st choice international GK; where you going to find a better keeper for Arsene Wenger to sign?

what about club? some players tend to perform better in their countries compared to their own clubs and we really cannot afford to let that happen.
