First impressions:

1. Solidly built
2. Bubbles my PS Antiglare
3. Very nice snug fit
4. Minor scuff marks

Alumacase iPhone4 Case Review

Price: USD59.95 (add USD20 for USPS Priority Mail)

Rating: 8/10

Pros:
1. Good solid built
2. Grips well in your hands
3. Very snug fit
4. Made from 6061 grade aluminum

Cons:
1. Bubbles PS Anti-glare (if 3M carbon back is applied)
2. Minor scuff marks
3. No extra hue screws
4. Adjustments needed to get the top and bottom piece properly aligned

Network Tests

1. Confirm no reduction on WiFi signal & download speed - tested with Speedtest App

2. Non-3G mobile network signal sometimes will drop by 1 bar

3. Pending 3G testing as my home has very bad fluctuating 3G signal

Final comments:

Biggest disappointment, the case bubbled my SP on the top. My iPhone is currently installed with PS Anti-glare on the front, Lucky Labs Carbon on the back and Lucky Labs Spectra Wrap around the phone. I am suspecting its caused by the carbon backing as it makes the phone slightly thicker. Will try to test it without my carbon back to see if it still bubbles. Even so I strongly believe if you stick a good quality SP which is thick on the front & back it will bubble on both sides. Next alternative? Get a thinner cheapo SP

Apart from the bubbling issue I am very happy with the overall outlook and built quality although it could be better as mine came with a few minor scuff marks.

Update: Removed Lucky Labs back carbon sticker and the phone slides in smoothly with out any bubbles


Will I still buy a Vapor? Yes.

Jason, reception probably won't be an issue in Malaysia but have u test the wifi, 3G signal? Most importantly the GPS accuracy. I hesitate to order after reading about the gps signal.

It's not effecting my 3G and WiFi signal. However can't say the same for GPS as I do not have a GPS software installed

thanks for the review. after readings it, i think i will stick with my vapor and wait for my pre-order from element case to order different color/series...

i just bought myself a clear screen protector front and back and i asked the shop fella to put in...after about 15 mins of trying to put on the screen protector i still can see a bit o bubble (tiny and very small) near the edge of the ear phone speaker, the home button and behind the ip4 some of the edge....must all the screen protector cannot placed perfectly or can be be perfect like when u take out the ip4 out of the box with the factory screen protector with no flaw at all...

though mine is rm25 only but still my heart not at ease as it's not overall pretty or should i say perfect

Cheap(er) screen protectors generally affect the quality of the display but its not much. I know cos been getting SP for many devices over the years including some rather expensive ones

The bubble you see is probably dust not completely removed. It takes patience and time to completely remove every bit of dust.
