watched Saving Private Ryan last night... notice there was this odd visual anomalies kinda like lense flare distortion in a few scenes.. like the flames in the background has this lines that stretch the flames...

It is not visual anomalies, it's an intentional photographic technique by cinematographer Janusz Kaminski. If you notice too, similar technique was used in Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor.

Hmm.. but its kinda inconsistent... makes it feel like a defect because in 1 angle, you see that effect, angle changes (same scene) it's not there... funny thing is that I don't recall it being in the cinemas or on dvd... weird...

screen in Astro HBO
and last month in tv2 midnite show

too violent for cinema
but moderate violent for Astro and tv2

btw did anyone preorder evangelion 2.22? the HK version got english subs and taiwan got include the special features plus if buy both 1.11 and 2.22 only cost $54 while the HK 2.22 BD cost $45
