currently looking on these models... $ in SGD wanted to have this monitor as my laptop extend screen for my work usage... not much gaming... for documents/officework/movie/drama/video mostly for same size... LED is about $50 more expansive then LCD but from what i heard from sales person.. LED's Dynamic contrast ratio is as high as 5 million compared to the LCD's 70000:1 (samsung bh2330) how will this DCR affect/influence my purchase? any other model that you can suggest? QUOTE LG E2240T LED 21.5" 1920x1080 $308 LG E2050T LED 20" 1600x900 $248 Samsung B2230H LCD 21.5" 1920x1080 $268 Viewsonic VX2233wm 21.5" 1920x1080 $249

i went to the computer shop and actually had a look at them... in fact.. all monitor looks the same to me.. just that the design is different.. and price is different depending on brands...
and it is like LED is a newer technology compared to the ordinary LCD ... but does it worth the $50 extra? will it has like more energy saving... longer life... etc?
i read the specifications of a few models of monitor online. they mention about low energy consumption... how significant will those energy saving help in my electric bill? $10-20 per month? :S

cool.. good reason... actually i also dont have movie/video of 1080p.. except those i got from youtube..
what do you guys mean by panel quality and IPS?
my usage are for - internet browsing - minimum gaming (only play dota once in a while) - documents (word, excel) - drama/movie (stream online)
i agree that 16:10 is more useful because can show more vertical screen for office productivity
the letterbox effect is so far not something that irritates me too.. when watching 16:9 video..
the dell 2209wa is too expansive for me... any other model that you can suggest to me? like rm100-150 lower than 2209 (maybe ST2310, P2210, E2210 that category of price range)

yea.. they have this IT show this weekend i'm going to have a look.. i studying in sg now from what i see in the trade zone in this forum... kl computer accessories is cheaper than singapore.. but those bigger stuff (like rm500 above) sg is cheaper question: we know that in win7, if we drag a window to the side of monitor.. it will become 50% and we drag another one to another side, then it willl auto resized to 50% also.. --> 2 column in 1 monitor if we have an extended screen.. can we have 4 columns auto resize?
