Yeap~ I noticed those TN users switch to U2311H is like  shocking.gif  drool.gif , it's definitely a great upgrade from any TN panel.
But some of IPS users here saw some weaknesses in this cheap IPS panel, perhaps it's just not targeted at them. sweat.gif

Dell seems to be rather clever in marking up the price prior to their IPS models.

I've yet to see any Models below 23" which is IPS and yet possess a HDMI input.

I've check thru though, hdmi and dvi actually the same just that dvi doesnt support sound transmitting whereas hdmi does*Who would actually use hdmi to really transmit good sound quality thru the lousy speakers installed in lcds =.=*.

Most model which have hdmi are usually TN panels but if they do have HDMI and yet use IPS it'll be 1.7k above. Models running IPS without hdmi just cost around 650 these days. Basically users are just paying twice the price for dell to include a hdmi input..

I might have overlooked the details since i've just started out checkin up on good display and availability on the market these days.
I've not bothered to look on other brands because they wouldn't state what panel they are using. U can see all the flashy features they've included like first 1ms ,super wide viewing, lagless , ghostless, super accurate life like image capturing. But one thing they'll always left out is, what panel they using.Dell on the other hand state out clearly what they are using which buy customer's trust totally. What's the point of having a 2-3 pages of flashy features where none of them describe what panel they are using.

The panel used actually described best then having flashy features.

Though one thing i looked, anything below RM700 ,22inch or above with hdmi input is definitelly TN panel. Anything with HDMI input and IPS with 24inch above, be prepared to forked out 1.7k or more for it.

I've looked through so far for 22inch with IPS panel due to the fact that i already possess a 24inch lcd and it've eaten half of my desk place. But so far.. only U2211H has the requirement i wanted.. I'd actually tried lookin thru other models but i always give up because of no description on what panel.

thx for pointing out. I'm not too informative over panels which i didnt notice ips have lower and higher range.

would like to get my hands on u2410.. unfortunately my desk already have fp241vw which already ocuppied half of the desk... so i needed a 2nd one which won't exceed 22inch.

One thing i notice... ips models doesnt seems to indicate full hd. Any difference between full hd and the ones which doesnt indicate full hd?
Seems only TN panels has it and 27inch above has full hd.

Received my U2410 today, unpacked it and hook it straight to my ps3.
Runs ps3 gekijou macross hybrid blu-ray+game and tries to run the movie. It shows power save mode and no signal...

Whereas my FP241VW display it wihout any problem at all.. =.="...

Bought the LCD through a Lyn Member.
5 yrs warranty with dell registered under my details.

I've thought that VA are no match for IPS but i'm wrong.. FP241VW is really a masterpiece that benq had ever made. I tried comparing both U2410 and FP241VW side by side... FP241VW's color is more like LCD TV then like a normal lcd. For movie wise..... FP241VW seems to be unmatchable and it could display 24p.

The disc i bought was RM260.

i'm curious whether you can run not at 24p for blu rays since i'm planning to get a ps3 too, btw, where did you bought the disc?does it have subs?
*
Of course it can support ps3. But playing HD movie is not possible.
No sub =.= It's R2 Japan.
I bought the disc from heavyarm.
Movies like FF7 advent children blu-ray won't be able to display on U2410..
which is my concern..

Or any U2410 could possibly explain any settings to do to enable 24p =.="

There's no way to troubleshoot problems like that -.-"...
The only way is RMA...

If u try to troubleshoot it urself without the knowledge, worst til worst u might even damage the lcd and void the warranty totally.

@everling have u tried running FF7 advent children?

Nowadays every1 is using DVI and no longer using D-sub*d-suck*.

DVI is equivalent to hdmi not includin the sound transmitting though.

Though some cheap LCD only have Dsub connectors and doesnt have dvi.

I'm still rather dissappointed over U2410 =.="... not as good as i expected.. though ips.. but it cant even run 24p movies over blu-ray. I can't seems to get used to the slight yellowish on the display itself..

U2410 also new model isnt it?
Besides my old benq FP241VW could really produce nice display with quality as good as a lcd tv. Not to mention it was release like few years ago.

I had my FP241VW and U2410 seating on the same table. I notice that the yellowish seems to be hurting all the scenes.. Kind of a waste that Benq no longer produce good lcds which is equivalent to FP241VW series anymore but all are produced on TN panels these days.

Though one thing... for lookin at words, U2410 seems to be more sharp and clear whereas FP241VW kind of blurry on certain occasions. Of course it's still good but not as clear and nice as U2410.

Ic... I got U2410 @RM1380 with 5 years Dell warranty.

I notice that some site have reviewed that the current U series are somesort of Cut-cost versions of the IPS series. Seems that the older series of Dell IPS with expensive price tag are truly remarkable IPS that had been phased out .

Regarding tuning the color temp to blue seems kind of unnatural... I had tried and it looks kind of ugly.

Wow... Dell recently on price rampage? LOL, still waiting for someone to take away my monitor before I can buy tho >.<" huhu

Out topic: darkskies, I would like to see your CM690 II side panel fan, it's really cute xD
*
[out topic]Cute =.=""... Looks normal only. CM690 II side panel could only house a small 12cm fan. My rig built needs bigger airflow to support the high amt of heat on 58x could generate and sli 460gtx s'...
Normal CM 20cm fan could only generate 700cfm which i took the storm which could literally blows 900 cfm.I think i had one poor quality pic placed on the lyn seller's post. One of the major sellers of Nucleartech from sabah.

@Zenhai i've yet to checked the rev model. I think i shud stick with REV A00 if it's REV A00 i have.
I heard many problems with REV A01 when users updated the firmware frm REV A00 to REV A01.
Neither do i want to sent in for RMA for REV A01.

Actually to conclude something which i've notice on current marketing strategy towards the current economy wise. It doesnt mean that new models will excel old models in any form nowadays.
Instead , nowadays many new models are worst and terrible then old models. Probably because many users doesnt want to pay for premium product these days, that make company cut cost to meet the market's price. I've used used an old 19" old chimei lcd before. It's using VA though. It's kickin arses over more then 5 years . But lookin at the current lcds these days, they merely survive more then 3 years and got their arse kicked.

does aoc 2434pw support 3D?

Check is the refresh rate 60hertz or 120hertz.

3D capable LCD are @ 120hertz. Normal ones are 60hertz.

Juz make sure it's hdcp compliant. If not u'll have trouble running display from ps3.

The U series from dell are fine with ps3 displays. They're cheap IPS models which is very rare on the market these days to see IPS surface at this price on the market with below 24" models.

Though at the same price, u could probably get 24" TN panels which is HD ready,LED and even has a HDMI input. Unless u r the lazy type that like to lie down and play games/watch movie if not i believe that TN panels shud be fine for u.

For me i'm very happy with FP241VW XD...
That's the best lcd i've ever switched into. I got this from a lyn who kept it in perfect condition.
