I haven't found the time to play with my new 2311H yet, honestly speaking the backlight bleed turns me off a little. The initial plan was to sell my 2209WA and replace it with this new 2311H. Thank God I didn't. From the looks of it I'm going to stick to my old 2209WA, which I agree that the factory setting is overly bright. What I did was tune down both contrast and brightness from the stock 75 to 50. That ease my eyes a bit. This weekend I'll try to tune my 2311H, if it doesn't works for me, it'll be in my wife's office or the garage sale pretty soon.

For IPS panel, there is something call "IPS glow" which is commonly mistaken by consumer as backlight bleeding. smile.gif Try to see the LCD using different angle...if the white part change with angle...mean its a IPS glow... if the white part fixed no matter which angle u look from, its a backlight bleeding.

Well, on my older Dell 2007WFPs, they were more orangish than whitish, so maybe newer IPS glows are slight whitish?

BTW, just ordered 2xU2311Hs, if I don't like the reduction in 120 pixels, then wait to see it at Garage Sales section.

ur 2007wfp come with 2 type of panel if not wrong... either ips or pva.... not really sure about pva.... but for my almost 1 year old U2410...and for the all 4 units that i had asked dell to exchange for me..all with the so call "backlight bleeding" in 4 corners. it disappear when i change my viewing angle~ smile.gif so its jus ips glow... a backlight bleeding will stay forever at the same point.... and according to Dell LCD engineer, backlight bleeding rarely occur in LCD nowaday. smile.gif

who has the first batch can rma and get a second batch if not satisfied with their product?  tongue.gif

as long as under warranty period... you can rma a LCD without any cost as long as you convince the DELL customer service that your unit is defect. But they will only send you a refurbish unit which is the same model like yours. Lets said if Dell come out a new version, U2410XXX due to the heavy complaint of the U2410. And my old U2410 had tint problem..they will only warranty my lcd with a replacement of U2410... instead of a new model of U2410XXX. smile.gif same thing happened to the old batch of dell 24 inch pva panel that had been replaced by U2410. i forgot the model edi~ something call 2409wfp i think. you can track back the evolution of that model. see how many version had dell come out since the first release. biggrin.gif

so do feedback seasrch first before you rush into something new~ blush.gif

If a LCD is equipped with internal speaker... mean as long as the HDMI is plugged in... then there will be audio coming out? And as we knew that HDMI came with both video and audio component...if use a DVI adapter... the audio component will also be converted?

yea.. they have this IT show this weekend i'm going to have a look..

i studying in sg now tongue.gif from what i see in the trade zone in this forum... kl computer accessories is cheaper than singapore.. but those bigger stuff (like rm500 above) sg is cheaper

question:

we know that in win7, if we drag a window to the side of monitor.. it will become 50% and we drag another one to another side, then it willl auto resized to 50% also..  --> 2 column in 1 monitor

if we have an extended screen.. can we have 4 columns auto resize?
*
can.. but not with mouse + drag.... you need right click on the taskbar and choose "windows side by side".

Can you tell me more on the displayport thing?
From net it says it is great for ATI 5000 series, which also mean it is great for me.  rclxms.gif

But do we need any special cable/connector to use this port? Does it come with the LCD itself?
Why dont we use the VGA/DVI instead?
Is it a replacement for HDMI which is missing in this LCD?
Or is it solely for Eyefinity?
*
for Dell U2410, yes this LCD come with free display port cable~ smile.gif and displayport is more better performance compare with HDMI. You may get more info about HDMI vs Displayport with the help of uncle google.

Did you went to replace your Dell LCD? I was thinking whether I shall keep it or exchange it. I don't feel like getting a refurbished one as a replacement. doh.gif
*
i think you can get a new 1 within 7 days.... if i din remember wrong.
and the tint issue can be easily spotted using grey background instead of white~ smile.gif i spotted this problem in my u2410 while surfing DELL forum (grey background) tongue.gif

doh.gif Dell said this is within their specification. Even my RM300 monitor is not as obvious as this.
*
lol...that chris-M guy been answering the tint problem like this since U2410 age. He will say everything is within spec and tell us to go get a professional LCD like Eizo~~ instead of a cheapo LCD like Dell Ultrasharp~ tongue.gif
