QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Oct 31 2010, 08:01 PM) Dell Professional or Ultrasharp series? IMHO I think they're the thinnest bezel 3/4" should be quite ok. Can't think of any thin bezel model to recommend locally. nevermind, just write down those thin bezel monitors that are not available locally, I don't mind shipping them over here. any Dell Professional or Ultrasharp users here? wanna find out the thickness of the monitor bezel. best if both monitors come together, the bezel width must not be fatter than 1cm. Possible? |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Oct 31 2010, 09:13 PM) i'm using a U2311H,the bezel's 1.7CM thick hhmm most computer LCDs that i've seen have around the same thickness jeez. Isn't there any more "thinner" bezel monitors? what about Eyefinity users? don't they feel it's a bit weird for a 3cm black line blocking their view? |

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Nov 1 2010, 09:53 AM) Well, this is best of current technology can offer, unless they scrape that front panel button, then maybe can archive 1cm or slightly thinner. hhhmm. I may consider Dell Ultrasharp, but does the stand allow me to rotate to portrait? or do I need to get another stand?OLED can do this though, but OLED is way too expensive to boot, and only few manufacturer actually produce this. Dell Professional and Ultrasharp is recommended because all 4 sides of the bezel is same width, making landscape or portrait eyefinity very attractive. I'm looking something similar to this. ![]() or this. This post has been edited by TechnoG: Nov 1 2010, 10:29 AM |

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Nov 1 2010, 04:50 PM) Best Eyefinity monitor? that would set me back around RM18k http://www.crvd.com/order.php Also, another forum discussing the very same thing. http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=119560 1 suggest to take off the casing, leaving even thinner bezel. http://metku.net/mods/transtft/06.jpg hhmm, I thought of taking off the casing, but the problem is, when the dust settles down there, how are you gonna clean it? Added on November 1, 2010, 9:52 pm QUOTE(karhoe @ Nov 1 2010, 11:55 AM) Mind providing the link for the stand for stacking one monitor on top the other? official Dell product?Added on November 1, 2010, 9:54 pmfound another video of another "eyefinity-friendly" monitors. I think I'll try to contact those heavy duty equipment manufacturer or AV shops to check out whether they do sell this kind of stuff. Added on November 1, 2010, 10:01 pmcheck the net already. 6 screens Samsung SyncMaster MD230 cost a whooping RM10k+ single screen cost $549 http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MD230-23-Bla...88620083&sr=8-1 might consider this.. QUOTE(Racerx @ Nov 1 2010, 11:25 PM) i don't know about pirated blu ray movies though,do they run at 24p too?are those on blu ray as like the real stuff? it's 23" Added on November 1, 2010, 11:28 pm imo that LCD is not worth it,yes the bezel's thin but for 549 freaking usd you only get a 19" TN panel LCD.Plus since it uses TN you'll have problems with viewing angles as your eyes won't be perpendicular to all of the screens. shiat brix, I only realize it's TN panel now I guess I'll settle for Dell Ultrasharp series. QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Nov 2 2010, 01:52 PM) U2311H does not have good viewing angle, have tested myself on 1 which my boss client company has 1 (surfing and office document, wtf I'm fine with the brightness as long as the color and contrast remains pretty much the same. The brightness will change slightly when you view from side way, but color and contrast still remain pretty much the same, only got dimmer. And as for 2209WA, since there's youtube review of this model, you can search youtube for this 2 model side by side comparison. The rest is up to you, your $$ and your decision it's also not like I'm going to put the 3 monitors at 90 degrees. Added on November 2, 2010, 11:21 pm QUOTE(Racerx @ Nov 2 2010, 01:48 PM) shit, sorry man,i read the wrong product details,it isn't a 19" LCD and it doesn't use TN panel.seeing the [real] viewing angles and the fact that it's a samsung,it should be using a VA panel instead. hhhmm. in your opinion, Dell or Samsung monitors is better? QUOTE(Racerx @ Nov 2 2010, 11:36 PM) if you get the dell,it's much cheaper and you'll have dell's warranty for the LCD but the bezel's gonna be 3.4cm thick.for me that's really distracting.on the other hand the samsung has a thinner bezel but the cost and warranty issue is too much to swallow. uumm. More specified? which model for Samsung monitors?tl;dr i can't tell which is better for your eyefinity setup and should I go for Dell Professional P2311H or Dell UltraSharp U2311H? both at the same price @ RM649. QUOTE(Racerx @ Nov 3 2010, 04:10 PM) the one in the amazon link you posted before. hhmm. 2209WA is pretty interesting, and RM729 only i'd take the U2311H over the P2311H,if you use a TN panel for an eyefinity6 setup you'll run into problems with viewing angles .btw, you might want to look at the 2209WA,it has an even better panel quality than the U2311H. so 2209WA should not have any problems with eyefinity setup? |

QUOTE(mitodna @ Nov 4 2010, 08:28 AM) Definately worth to get Dell monitor. They replace 2 times without any strange Q and A nor delay. But then again, U2311H are having issues? Really worth getting Dell. Yup, this happened to me once.not long ago, my Dell E207WFP monitor suddenly show RED color only, and since it's still under warranty, Dell send over a new monitor to replace it without me stepping out of the house that's why I don't mind getting Dell monitors, their way of RMA is an easy task. |

QUOTE(everling @ Nov 16 2010, 10:17 PM) Between an IPS and a TN panel? I would say yes. IPS wins. what about Acer and Samsung monitors around that price range? worth getting? But it is a little strange that Dell would produce a TN panel that has slightly less feature and only costs RM20 less. I'm not sure what market they're aiming it at, perhaps those who are really power consumption conscious? Edit: Oh, considering the features like asset management, which is geared for enterprise-level, I suppose it is targeted at large enterprises. the downside of the Ultrasharp series is that you can't rotate it 90 degrees |
