New Cheaper Dell IPS Monitor uses E-IPS which is Enchanced-IPS, that are much cheaper compared to conventional IPS, H-IPS , S-IPS because they use cheaper backlight.
But generally they have Wider aperture for light transmission, enabling the use of lower-power, cheaper backlights. Improves diagonal viewing angle and further reduce response time to 5ms.(source from wikipedia)
but i doubt U2211h and U2311h is using E-IPS but the price for that, but certainly using E-IPS to be able to allow such cheap price. but with 8ms milisecond? hmm.. i doubt so.. perhaps they doesn't include overdrive system to monitor so less the budget but lower the response time.
but so far, as i watch reviews, 2209wa is one of the best monitor dell has offer, since it has lowest 10ms input lag as well as 5ms response time just like they advertise in their website.

QUOTE(onimusha_m16 @ May 14 2010, 05:48 AM) the price of U2211H and U2311H had drop to RM659 and RM749 with instant cash rebate too cheap for ips panel? too cheap for ips panel they might lack the overdrive ability which us can see 8ms, so it might cause ghosting for fast pace movie. normally, E-IPS with overdrive ability such as 2209wa only with 5ms G2G. but the price is indeed very very very attractive.

My Reasons are:
1. i don't need 1080p. 2. i need more workspace, but i used 1280x1024, so this 1600x1050 is basically enough for me 3. i prefer lower input lag because i'll be using CRT monitor side by side 4. 2209wa can overclock to 75hz capability

guys i just received my 2209wa, but something annoyed me with the screen. there's a minor colour changed on the left and right side of the screen(a lil bit), is this tinting issue? it's just a little bit only, other colours seems to okay, or abit darken.
my 2209wa is manufactured in december 2009, REV A01

QUOTE(Top-Gun @ May 29 2010, 02:00 PM) This might be the IPS glow effect. The colour change is sort of orangish/bluish on the dark background right? This has always plagued IPS panels I believe, if not then maybe you have a defective monitor. this problem only seems to noticed when it's on all white screen. and a little on other colours (not notice able unless inspect closely) the color is hard to identify which color, because it's hard to tell. if i see closely, it's a little darken, or maybe a lil green, i think green tint maybe.

if you use TN panel, smaller in size doesn't actually annoy you.
but as you brought a bigger monitor that uses TN panel. it will soon gonna annoy you because of viewing angle.
when you're using the TN panel monitor with a proper distance use. it's not really a problem.
but when you use it like you're viewing a normal small size monitor(short distance viewing, example of 30~40cm between eye and screen). The colour on the left and right side will annoy you, because colour will be shifted a little unless you put your monitor futher away to solve this issue.

QUOTE(munak991 @ Jun 16 2010, 11:52 AM) TN panel have viewing angle disadvantage. IPS have categories also. E-IPS is old tech H-IPS and new S-IPS is new tech which is more superior . correct me if im wrong E-IPS is newer tech than H-IPS and S-IPS. QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jun 19 2010, 02:18 PM) i've just got myself a dell ultrasharp 2209wa. no backlight bleeding problem. color is nice at all angle. beats all the majority TN panels sold in the market. but the display is too bright. i've set he brightness to 0. contrast to 60. any 2209wa expert out there willing to share their settings? another question: anyone try using DVI-HDMI adaptor and connect this display to their PS3/XBOX/WDTV/Bluray to display 16:9 content? does it show letterbox? We can't really share setting with you, because each monitor default setting are not the same. My setting are Brightness > 40 Contrast > 65 Input Colour > RGB Mode Selection > Graphics Sharpness > 60 Dynamic Contrast > On Resolution 1680x1050@76Hz

QUOTE(munak991 @ Jun 21 2010, 06:32 PM) Ya marketing strategies U2410 is fine with gaming 6ms you can use the menu and set to "Game Mode" profile to increase the responsiveness of the screen and decrease input lag.
