The U2311H has tinting issue. You can see the colors on RHS and LHS are not same/uniform. Contacted Dell regarding this issue and see what they gonna do about this 

Back-light bleeding is minimal and I don't really work under dark environment. No DP or BP as well.

Any other users of U2311H mind giving their comments?

tinting is... in simple words..one side of the monitor slightly different color from the other side.
(e.g. one side seems more orange and the other side seems more blue)
bleeding is backlight leaking. meaning that when the screen is supposed to display black, you can see some patches of white (usually from the edges of the screen).
not the technical definition, but it's the best i can come up with lol

For tinting issue, you can try to use my method. Just put a white background and see the screen.

What is the benefit of IPS over TN?
How come Dell U2311H doesn't have hdmi input? But the 4 usb ports will come in handy? Can the usb ports power up DSLR? Anybody using it in such a way?
Samsung PX2370 is way better in respond time, 2ms as compare to Dell U2311H at 8ms. But i a bit worry on the MagicLux feature which auto the brightness according to ambient ligh. Will it affect when do photo editing (Especially on brightness adjustment)?

With DVI input, HDMI is redundant..... just a RM10 adapter difference....

Try googling up " IPS vs TN " panel .From what i hear here, IPS is a much superior panel with greater contrast,nicer colours, better viewing angles,etc.But it comes with a price, a slower response rate which is a dreaded thing for gamers.Try doing your research and take a look at both panels in computer stores?Lowyat is the best

It's basically now ST2410 vs U2311H vs BX2450 .Would definitely grab the IPS if the design is as good as the other too I know i know....i'm too fussy about design  .....

im going to college next year january, and i want take my ps3 along.
my mom offered me the old CRT tv to bring to my hostel, but CRT dont have HD for the ps3 gaming.

so can recommend me a LCD screen that has HDMI, and built in speaker?

budget is 600-700, and im going to pick a single room, so no problem of housemate destroying the unit or stealing it lol

DDC/CI means the screen can be calibrated using a PC software. The PC software can send instruction to adjust brightness, contrast, colour level, etc.

So from what I read, there are calibration hardwares which is bundled with the sofware which automatically calibrates the monitor.
