QUOTE(CognitionCycle @ May 11 2010, 02:35 PM) I am looking for FT job. What is HDP????If I were to get an HDP, I need to have a Singaporean GF first, right? If that's true, then it seems things have to come as a package, a girlfriend and an HDP. Sounds unpleasant but GF seems to be an asset already. It's not easy to jack up the HDP price you know? BTW, I'm interested to buy an HDP, anyone please advise: Downpayment: SG$20,000 Monthly Payment: SG$3,500 Duration of Payment: 20 years Hope to buy a SG$650,000 HDP. I don't mind if anyone could introduce me a capable GF to help me pay some living expenses |

I can see this thread there are alot of Auditors and Accountants lurking around.
So, accounts and finance professionals are quite demanding in SG yah. |

LoL, after working here for 1 mth,
I just realised SG only got 11 days of public holiday compare to 16 days of public holiday in MY. Even Dr Goh passed away, SG did not declare a public holiday... LOL |

QUOTE(seantang @ Aug 19 2010, 11:14 PM) Kuriya maybe $100-200 per person for a decent meal if you don't drink sake. U mean treat lady frens with fugu to impress them?? hmmm..The white fish with truffle sauce was shocking. $90 per individual plate... the amount of fish is equivalent to about only 2 slices of regular sashimi plus a couple tablespoons of truffle sauce. Wagyu was $50->much more per 100gm, depending on cut, marbling etc. Usually I'll go only when company pays. Luckily for me quite often. Own pocket kenot tahan. But if you want to impress your lady friend... have to lor Provided ur wallet is impressive too.. BTW, how does fugu taste like? |

For remittance of large amount of SGD to MYR. There are 3 ways of doing it.
1) Via money changer. (I always use Mustapha) but u will need to proof your identity for exchanges exceeding $5K. 2) Use a bank draft (Ask the bank issue you a bank draft in favour of your name) 3) Use Travelex. (I think you will get the best rate as the rate offered is best on current money-market rate; but the charges is 0.625% of the source currency, hence I advise you to do a CBA analysis before you proceed). 4) Use TT via bank (Not quite sure about this). I heard using SG Maybank through MY Maybank the best... need some pro to confirm on this) 5) Exchange with company using a "win-win" rate agreed by your boss. Last time I exchange with my company subsidiary in Malaysia for 2.45 for S$5K as the subsidiary urgently need some SGD. Otherwise, is it a wise choice to buy some USD for investment as USD vs SGD is now only 1.295 Any pros here can elaborate more on the above as I am not a finance person. Me too wanted to remit more then $30K to Malaysia as now the SGD is strengthening. |

QUOTE(uberlebender @ Nov 8 2010, 03:37 PM) i dont want to commit to anything i can't afford to pay in cash n having a car is a bit too much for me. I have been riding bikes for quite some time and I think I can minimise the risks. wearing full safety gear with jacket, boots n all. besides, statistics show that most fatal motorbike accidents occur in rural roads. along the highway, just stay away from the buses n lorries n should be okay. U mean u r going to ride a bike from SG to KL regularly for 300km along the NS Highway?Walan, r u kidding or wat? |

QUOTE(dericklok @ Nov 22 2010, 02:13 AM) Cost of living in Singapore is actually dirt cheap with the exception of properties, insurance, medical and education.Others are damn cheap. Imagine for S$99 per month, you can subscribe for 100mbps fibre optics + mobile internet + free 6 mths Mio TV (Astro in MY) PLUS a FREE LG 46" Full HD TV But with RM99, you can only subscribe for a mere 1mpbs Streamyx in Msia. So, Msia pls go dai. Kthxbai. |
