looks like my house owner gonna sell off HDB soon, got 2 batch of people come view the house today. lets say if he really sell it off, should i move to JB?? how much does it cost to rent a whole house in JB? which area is best har?? then have to buy bike somemore. haiz.... hope those people come view for fun only and dun buy it

if i stay in JB, definitely i will buy a bike and travel lo. but i guess my aunt will not suggest me to do that as she always ask me to stay in SG instead. not sure if can find a $400 common room lets say if my house owner really move. if with aircond + internet, i don't mind paying $500.

why not move 1 more station and stay in Sembawang? a common room here cost around $400-$500. i saw a lot of those advertisement by direct owner post at the bus stop. can save on the half month agent fees also. and those places all like 5 mins walk to MRT. quite convenient.

with $1500 per month, u will get not much savings. and i Not sure if u can afford to stay in SG with that amount.

the law says yes, but imagine when people are sardine in the MRT, u think u have the chance to bring it in? unless u board the train from the 1st station. and i believe that u will have issue getting out of the train later.

before 7am, still acceptable and u still can bring the bicycle in. anything after that, even u board from the 1st station, u will have difficulty getting it out of the train.

respect, malay bro that don't work in malaysia although got so many subsidy. you earn my respect. i dun understand why but u may say i am racist, bcoz malay got so many advantage in MY, it makes me hate (or mayb jeolous?) them. Singapore malay earn my respect and i even treat them better than chinese as i admire the way they are able to survive here and i have not encounter any mat rempit type malay in Singapore b4.

back to your question, you can try sengkang/punggol/serangoon area. with circle line open now. it is very easy to go to ur office now. just alight at macpherson station and walk there. FYI, my aunty works there as well.

i have though of this before. not feasible as taking a bike is not as economical as you though. if u add the monthly parking, petrol, ERP (assume if u don't need to pay) and maintenance, its still more expensive than taking MRT it self. not to mention when rainy days, then problem. I have considered getting myself a 500-1000cc bike so that i can travel back to KL with it. after much consideration, still MRT is a better choice.

fyi, that blogger guy is wearing short pants to office like it is inside his own house like that. but i personally will wear smart casual. at least show a little respect to the company. thats what i think. the company rules is, wear what ever u think u are comfortable in as long as its not naked.

1. rich fellow (above average income where family at least have 1 car when he is young). so family members will tend to say riding a bike is dangerous blah blah blah.
2. living in big cities. riding a bike in KL is dangerous. but the 1st factor actually contribute to this as well because if u are from those poor or low income family, u will have no choice.
3. i can confirm he is a chinese. and confirm he never grow up in a family which house hold income less than RM2k before. thats why he answer like that.

like i say, u can wear what ever u want. but if u wanna wear sexy, i dun mind regarding jail break iPhone, nobody in the office will open ur phone and check 1 la. its invade of privacy. so nobody cares.

if people find out, u sue them for invade of privacy 1st before they sue you (i wonder if they can) for jail break your OWN phone.

frankly speaking, riding a bike in Singapore is 10x safer than riding in KL. 1 thing i notice is Singapore doesn't have any "manhole" in the middle of the road unlike in KL where i would say the "manhole" causes 90% of motorcycle accidents. I personally fell from my bike twice because of it. once because the "pot hole" is too deep and cause my whole bike to fall when knock into it. the 2nd time is on Federal highway motor lane where the drainage cover got stolen and my bike bang into the drain in high speed, then i fall. from that day onwards, i didn't use motor lane as using motor lane = die 100x faster than using the highway with big lorries and cars.
