It was almost 30% less than wat i requested n 10% less than my current salary in RM(only the figure, not after the converted rate)

During the interview, they taken my passport n IC for the ep application, till now i didn't sign any documents yet. And that moment i tot if i not signing the offer letter yet, i still can reject their offer.

I think i wont be black listed by MOM if i reject this offer right??
*
U can request 100%, but it's irrelevant.
10% is very reasonable. Provided the company, prospect, job scope etcis acceptable. based on the monetary, i'll definitely take it.

MOM will still blacklist u, provided you can get a chance to explain urself. Saying that u've never sign anything, other than the normal job application forms, i presumed. I understand you need to make declarations for EP application (such as any directorship, ownership of company, bankrupt, etc etc).

Hey guys, which bank is the best to open in SG? I've opened OCBC Bank because my fren said it's the fastest bank for salary to come in! tongue.gif

Any 2 cents?

Dun ur employer have a specific bank for salary transfer?
I dun think it makes any difference whichever bank for salary credit. It depends on ur employer's bank a/c. Hence ask ur employer which bank they use for paying salary and u open the same bank lor.

But there is another option... change the status quo. Those of us who are overseas do what we can. I go home to vote in the election and blogged to carry my views to those in Malaysia. The blog attracted several police reports during the last election, so my stategy must be making some difference.

I have not given up hope of returning to Malaysia. Things are changing because of 2 reasons. Firstly, decent people are fair-minded. Some day the larger Malay community will realise that ''maruah'' means self respect, not pride. You cannot attain self respect without  being inscrutably fair.

*
U mean u've received Police reports? They addressed it to u personally?
U still can come back M'sia without being arrested?

Unfortunately i have given up.

If you have no assets in Malaysia and don't intend on getting any, giving up Malaysian citizenship is not a big issue. If you already own property... then susah.

How bout if i intend to retire in Msia?
Can i apply as SG citizen, then apply PR in Msia in the future?
Wat about the that Malaysia my second home Msia was promoting? is it applicable to "ex-Msia citizen?

then why bother taking up citizenship in the 1st place?
*
Cos SG govt is "offering" (i.e. forcing PR to take citizen, else, u can't renew ur PR)

Foreigners are not allowed to own property in Malaysia. Exceptions are MM2H etc.
*
So wat is the status of a MM2H?
ARe they PR, citizen, or something else?
Any renewal policy for it?
It's far too ahead for me, but just asking out of curiosity.

Have anyone experience before when u bought a bus ticket to/fro SG, and for some reason, not enuf customers for ur schedule, and on that last minute travelling day itself, they tell u canceled or reschedule it to a later time (combining it with the next schedule)?

I haven't experience it, but just wondering if any has such experience b4 and which bus company?

I would like to enquire about singing up with singtel mobile services - post paid.

According to its website:

"Documents Required

If you are a Foreigner:
Employment Pass/Work Permit/Social or Dependent Pass with at least 6 months validity to date of expiry; and
Purchase Agreement/Tenancy Letter (with proof of more than 6mths occupancy); and
Passport"

So if i'm a foreigner, and i wana sign up for a post paid plan, i need to produce all EP, Paasport and tenancy agreement (with proof of more than 6mths occupancy).

1. Does that mean i nid to already stayed in the house for more than 6mths? or > 6mths to expiry? So if i just came over for a week, can i apply?

2. If i haven't collected my EP, can I apply?

3. If i'm using prepaid, do they have a data plan? can't seems to find it.

Thanks.

I see. Yup. I'm more experienced with retail banking.

You have your point. I have worked with 4 different companies for the past 7 years. I promoted from exec, to senior exec then to manager. There is no assistant manager ranking in my company. That's why some of my manager frens were offered assistant manager post when they apply for other jobs.

I really want to improve myself. Can you give me some advices on how to package my resume. tq
*
Actually from my point of view RM4k for 7yrs is not that bad depending on what ur doin.
u said ur doing campaign analyst for retail banking (i dun really know wat campaign analyst do), but it doesn't sound to me its front office role, hence RM4k its pretty reasonable. Also 7yrs experience doesnt mean 7yrs doin / specialising in the same kind of work rite? So if u change role definitely increment will be slow as opposed to specialising.

Anyway, my advise is see ur 7 yrs and wat role u mainly does, and u apply for jobs that fits ur experience. See the job requirement/description and write the most important ones tat u've match in the cover letter and of course repeat again in resume. the other not so important (irrelevant) things u've done can minimise it, put at the end or omit it in ur resume. basically keep ur resume short and concise and capture the reader with all the relevant/matching experiences tat u've had at shortest time.

But of course general rule is, u've must meet at least 70% of the JD/requirements (including the most important ones). Otherwise, low chances and better dun apply. Keep the company clear until u see a matching one. u dun wana apply for 10 jobs with the same bank!!

TM = Telekom Malaysia, not Telekom KL+PJ+Shah Alam. They have a budget to support the whole country not just the central area. Again there are many things I don't like about TM but saying that Singapore provides faster bandwidth is looking at it from a narrow lens.

Anyway, OT already. Let's go back to discussing Singapore working life.
*
I think the talk about SG providing faster broadband is hype up.
i used to surf on 515kb speed in KL. But now im using 6MB speed with singtel.
The speed, page loading, etc is exactly the same.
2ndly, the internet speed in my office is also the same as in KL.
i dun see any difference.
altho i dun watch movies or youtube, but just by comparing page loading, i dun see the difference. it still takes about 2-3 second to load a simple or previous pages. But will be more than 5 seconds for a more complicated page (like more photos, or moving pictures, etc)
at best, probably its 1MB.

It's just me?

Surfing is not really a measure of your bandwidth. It's much more a measure of the bandwidth of the website you are surfing.

My experience is that downloading (p2p, direct dl or pulling big files from Gmail or my company's VPN) is generally noticeably faster in Singapore. But then again, I'm comparing Ipoh vs SG, not KL vs SG.
*
In terms of uploading and downloading attachment to gmails, i oso dun really see much diff.
ok, probably there are slight diff, which im not able to see w my naked eyes.

but still, it's not up to my expectation wen i hear people saying opening internet pages is as fast as opening a file from my own document folders within my pc.
