Wow, I used to work in ION, so headache! Every time lunch hour so packed... The food so expensive  doh.gif  Worst of all, go back also need to pack in the train! Luckily now working in AMK.. *phew*
But I do like the view from my window. During daylight, I can see all the way to the Marina Bay Sands. At night, it's the Christmas lights on Orchard.

I bought plane tickets too. Haven't taken the bus since Firefly started flying from Sg to Ipoh.

Anyway, the bus company online sites are quite crappy. Don't wait... go straight to their office at Golden Mile etc. and buy there.

Usually, 2 or 3 months before CNY. Sometimes the "official booking" is not available yet, so I just ask the staff to reserve me a seat when booking is available. You'd probably need to be a regular and the staff can at least remember you. Also helps if you're flexible on which 2 or 3 days & time you want to travel.

Any bus companies to recommend/avoid?
I used to take Alisan 18 seater buses to Ipoh. Backup was Grassland. I'd tend to stick to the bus companies whose drivers are Chinese uncles. They tend not to speed as much.

was chatting with my singapore fren during the weekend, he was telling me the bonus paid out in singapore job is heavy (admin staff did able to strike for few months of bonus?) . Need some insight here, is that true? And i heard the increment in Spore is not much? How true is that?
You cannot generalise.

Not all Singapore companies give high bonus. And not all Malaysian companies give low bonus.

What do you mean 'increment in Spore is not much'? Does the whole of Singapore get the same increment?

Come on... put some thought and effort into your questions.

When it comes to Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Facebook... their offices outside their HQ bears very little resemblance to their HQ. That's because all their big shots, revenue earners, creative staff and concept-capable programmers are at HQ and they are the ones who get the super offices with all the perks. Their offices elsewhere however is just every other back room programming, operational maintenance, data center, customer service or sales office. Don't expect the on-call masseurs or Michelin-5-star cooks in the cafeteria etc.

Why?
If you're looking for a genuine American breakfast, no better place than where Americans in Singapore go for breakfast.

Wow, you have membership? Yes their sunday brach is very nice. There was time when it was 100% imported from USA, not so sure now.
Not individual membership cos I'm not American nor Canadian. But my company's American.

What so nice about American Breakfast? why not Hong Kong Dim Sum breakfast?
My favourite breakfast is still a nice kopi or teh, toast and half boiled eggs.

altho i dun watch movies or youtube, but just by comparing page loading, i dun see the difference. it still takes about 2-3 second to load a simple or previous pages. But will be more than 5 seconds for a more complicated page (like more photos, or moving pictures, etc)
at best, probably its 1MB.

It's just me?
Surfing is not really a measure of your bandwidth. It's much more a measure of the bandwidth of the website you are surfing.

My experience is that downloading (p2p, direct dl or pulling big files from Gmail or my company's VPN) is generally noticeably faster in Singapore. But then again, I'm comparing Ipoh vs SG, not KL vs SG.

Singtel Mio Home uses land line in the house? Not sure if my landlord allow it though. Thought it would be more convenient to get an usb modem package and bring my laptop around. Besides, I can't utilize the package as I do not have a TV there T_T
All 3 telcos have cheap mobile broadband services. Just go their website and check out their services. I'm paying $15.49 a month for the slowest line under a 2 year contract from Singtel and the deal included free SIM and a Huawei USB 3.5G modem dongle.

Apart from that I also have one of those iPhone plans with voice and 12GB of data. Can use this for tethering to your PC if you don't need constant internet access.

Planning to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab for Xmas and use it with a multisim (2 devices using 2 SIM but same phone number) from my iPhone plan.

Just to share with people over here, if you are planning to get a iPad, get is in Malaysia (JB City Square). Price for iPad is a lot cheaper in Malaysia compare to Singapore. 16GB wifi is selling $728 but they are selling RM1549 in Malaysia. Its even cheaper than buying in US.
Do you know if the Samsung Galaxy Tab is cheaper in Malaysia?

Samsung outlets are selling it for S$998 without telco plan.

Is the iPad sold by Apple in Malaysia? iPads don't seem to be on sale on the Malaysian Apple store website (http://store.apple.com/my). I couldn't find the link.
