Hi,

I would like to compare surgery charges among the hospitals, but the problem is when I called up the hospitals, they always ask to come for check-up first. The thing is, I could not go to all hospitals and having check-up only to get the quotations then to compare.

Thus, I hope some of you who had gone for the surgery will be able to provide me some information:

1. Which is the best hospital (or which hospital did you go) for Cataract Removal Surgery in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor (preferably with specialist)?

2. How much is the charges for surgery (quoted from the hospital)?

P/S: If you have info on charges for Malaysian Permanent Resident and Foreigner, kindly provide it too.

NEW UPDATE (MAY 11, 2010: 1645HRS)

I have been getting treatment at UKM Hospital and am well-informed of my eye condition - which is definitely cataract. I do not mind about the charges as long as it is done by recognized specialist and not over-charging me, of course. My next option is to do it overseas, however I really need to know if there are good eye specialist centre here in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor. Thanks.

I read in a different thread about Tun Hussien Onn Eye hospital and it sounds like a government hospital, with many patients in queue.

Does ISEC a favourite centre for eye surgery? What do you all think about this hospital?

THANKS A LOT for your information and explanation - really, really helpful. ISEC sounds good, will get in touch with them and see how it goes.

As for HUKM and PCMC, they are hospitals and I just thought going to a centre which is specialize in eye care would be a good option.
