The maximum inter-branch withdrawal limit per day is RM25,000. Therefore, it is fine to go to any Maybank branches nationwide if the amount of money you intend to withdraw is no more than RM25,000. Otherwise, you will have to go back to your account holding branch.

Yes. You do. And you will need to pay RM2.15 (RM2 comission + RM0.15 stamp duty) for the banker's cheque.

Change into US1000. Only 'satu keping or dua keping'. Or 'tiga keping' USD500 denomination. So easy to slip in anywhere, in your socks, your underwear or rolled it into your collar. laugh.gif Problem is you lose exchange commission, twice once here and once there.

Hi,

I have another question to ask about bank draft.

I wanna buy a bank draft in GBP, but since the bank's rate is higher, can I change the currency at money changer first before buying the draft at any bank?

I never use bank draft before so I have a question here.

Is the bank draft amount must be fixed? For example, I'm paying PTPTN one shot in order to enjoy the 20% discount. At this moment, I do not know how much the exact amount to be paid after 20% discount.

So I wondering how is the bank draft works if the amount that I wanted to use is unknown.

Amount must be fixed and exact.
Go PTPTN branch to get the EXACT figure, proceed to BANK and process your bank draft.

It's better to go back your account branch because I did that. But I heard that amount lesser than 25k can do at any branch. For safety, you better check with your bank first.

1) does the finder has the same name (or description) as stated in the bank draft?
2) if the draft are addressed to a company,...then it would be a bit riskier....
example, if addressed to RTD, then the finder may use it to pay RTD...I guess the finder can

HLB is my choice of bank. So they are charging RM2 or RM5+RM0.15?

What is the MIDF/MIH means?

Just asking only. Can we cancel back our bank draft (before the third party bank it in)? Because I saw its already deducted from my account.
Means... To credit that amount back to our own account? Can?

There are no USD1,000 & USD500 notes. Max is only USD100. Good luck to you if you changed to that denomination fake money.

Nope. You will need to bank in the amount to Public Bank for them to issue you a bankdraft.

My advice to you is if you have an account at Maybank, bank in your money there and buy a bankdraft from Maybank.

Hello all,

Questions, if I want to cancel my bank draft (suppose to be sent to China):

1) how long will it takes for the money to be creditted to my account?
2) Will it use current currency rate, or the rate during initial transaction?

Thanks!

No.

Ask them return the draft to u.

Ask the person(s) who signed on the draft application form to sign on the back of the draft and return to the issuing bank. Bank will refund minus a few Ringgit charges.

Then re-issue the draft.

If banked in already...good luck biggrin.gif

Btw, the above is applicable for Hong Leong Bank. Other banks may have different practice. CALL YOUR BANK.

I went to the Maybank at PJ Old Town to make a bank draft but got rejected.

The purpose for the bank draft is to pay 3% booking fee for buying subsale house and it is over 10K.

That Malay aunty sat behind counter (maybe she's the boss la)rejected my request saying that I need to show them proof of the house price, amount of booking price and real estate agency details.

I was shocked because previously CIMB did not request any proof when I requested for a bank draft and it went smoothly. They only requested company name to be transferred and check if you have enough money, that's it.

Maybank staff keep saying that I want to make bankers check but I told them I want to make bank draft.

To all Sifus,

1) are bankers check and bank draft the same?
2) do I really need to show proof of house price, booking amount and real estate agency details.
3) if yes, how do I get that because it is a subsale house and don't have any fancy pamphlet like new house always got.
4) can someone punch that aunty in her face because she annoyed me too much.

thank you in advance

May i know the updates? Because I'm going to buy bank draft also to pay 7% deposit for buying subsale house and it is over 30K.
For 3% booking fee, I'm using online bank transfer which is also over 10k

Instant transfer to which account if you do not have any banking account with that bank?
I dont think is possible. You need to have a banking account with that bank only able to do bank draft with that bank.

Nope. Just like normal cheque. Only the person / name stated on the cheque can actually cash out the money. You dont have to worry unless the cheque is bearing a very general name.
You can declare lost at the same branch you do the cheque. Penalty is RM20.

If you return a banker cheque unusued, the cost is RM2.
For comparison purpose.

Hmm. Seems like different from what i did last year.

I did a Rm100k bank draft and there's Rm5 charges in Maybank.

Added : Sorry jst saw your post is 2010 LOL
