Jus drop in to say hi to all taiko  long time nvr visit this thread.... but lately my ex boss are interested in BN biz... and wan to set up one at sarawak here... and i found one land near beach.... not sure how many population there atm.. havent do bird test... but not far from the land there is a bird house also... so i guess at least there is some swiftlets ... my question is... i m not experiance in doing a BH.... so you guy do suggest me hire a "consultant" ? as we all know tat they will wan a share from ur BH rite.... or any sifu here willing to set up for me and charge some money rather than those company charge ? |

yea agree........ bird house have to do it together share exp..... but willing to help and charge small fee also OK... as long as both are happy.... but i really dun like consultant type....... they wan ur share for few years  |

The roof leaks on to the ceiling and seeps through the insulation and and caused a wet patch all the nest in this area turns orange color and very pretty and very thick as it's loaded with water. The chicks all seem to be healthy and suffer no ill effect from the excessive moisture. I will harvest next visit and see if I can produce my first red nest.  When you say that your bh is doing so so. This depend on the bird population in your area. In some place 30 nests is acceptable in other place 1000 nests in 1.5 years is possible provided you have the technic . Quote Pak Han " Successful BH is 5 0/0 luck and 95 0/0 skill" unquote. Belief me A bh design by me and built by Prof. Yap in Kuching 600 nests in 1.5 years and his neighbor only 500 meters away only 50 nests. To add insult to injury this BH is now 2years and 2 months old moreover the bh is exactly on the flight path and the birds coming back to Yap's bh are coming from the direction of the other bh.  Above is meant to be for fun reading and if anyone care of give more input will be a great help as this one problem suffer by most bh owners. A suggestion, you may put wet copper sheet near your nests to create green nest and other colors if you use different metal..........not recommended but maybe for the fun of producing multicolor nests to show off. hahaha so those red nest got extra benefit ? its the same rite ? jus diff color cause by the nearby environment ?  hi guys this is my own DIY sound tester caN use but messy.......and since this tester have finished.... it nvr lure any bird when i tested it..... issit the speaker only 2 ? or jus the sound not suitable ? OR the place dont have any birds ? but last Sun i tested it out when i saw switflet flying above the sky... although i dont know which type it is.. but i m sure its switflet ... and when i switch on the sound... the birds seem dont care bout the sound.... jus fly away.... any idea ?? and i wanna know if the area have birds.... how long you have to play the sound until they fly around ur car ?? |

There are still some flaws such as >temp 1-2 celcius lower than ideal 28c >lots of dead cockroaches on the floor >vent holes too windy bro if u know the problem ed........ will it be hard to settle it still ? 1 to 2 C really so much effect ? or it is "ok" ? |
