Electricity cost generally lower in this country so payback longer. For a developed country, electricity bill higher so payback for PV shorter. Tat's the common logic. All the so call 'green tech' just for show some ministry are working lah. If they sincerely want to go green, should build MRT 25yrs ago or implement green buses like Korea and discourage people from driving Protong.  laugh.gif

You bh using almost constant power supply. PV works if power fluctuate so extra sell back to TNB. Don't lah oversize with intention to get money from TNB. Latest heard from radio to make FIT attractive they comparing miserable return with FD. FD better lah if need money can straight withdraw. Cannot sell 2nd hand PV neither.

Hi Bobby

Totally agreed with you. All those window dressing by the media reporting all those so-called-news, only they know how many really materialise and work.

Hi WW.

<Cleaning is maintain health and better nests cos most BHs are too low and polution @ birdnests.>

When you do the cleaning, do you clean up everything or have to leave some
behind for the smell?

<For those very particular on nests quality, do clean more often>

I heard that after some time, they will be mites built up in the birds' poop. The mite will bite and suck the blood of baby birds and will also left one's skin itchy. How to deal with this mite. Using chemical will leave a strong smell which might drive the birds away?

<Never clean up when new cos you want the aroma and not willing to pay for the smell and what better than the origin smell.>

I heard one guy recommended that for new BH,for first 2 years do not do any harvesting as this method will speed up the population in the building.

I do not understand as once the fledging left the nest, the nest will not be recycle again. Birds will build new nest for fresh lay. If so, how does not harvesting helps in the multiplication of birds???

<Clean occasionally when OK cos you don't want to disturb too much but want to have a healthy BH.
Clean often when very successful as then, quality is what you want and volume isn't a topic at all.>

Very good advice. My appreciation. flex.gif rclxms.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

WW, have you heard of a big project for BH in Jerangau, somewhere near the polo club. News or rumours that 40% harvest there is blood nest!!! I thought West Malaysia do not have blood nest, very confuse rclxub.gif

Thank you in advance for your time and effort in here.

Have a good day.

tongue.gif Hi WW

Thanked you so much for your detailed advice to my previous posting notworthy.gif

FYI, I am a consumer and does not own a BH at the moment. Can I buy direct from you please?

<These guys aren't stupid but very smart and intelligent; So innovative like those guys making fake nests and make millions dollars and only  those who believe in them are F****, They are fishing for "water turtles" to dump their saving into their projects....my opinion only.>

[/B]This is the problem with human.  Always finding ways to outsmart GOD.

<<I did asked a buyer why he offered such low price and his answer was that there was no official quote for the nests and so he offered his own quote. He told me that if I think that it too cheap to sell, then keep it for a better price and he will buy and also will keep the nests to speculate on it.  So, to be safe, he buy low to ensure that he won't loss incase the price drop.........honest answer I would say.>>

Is there anyway that Birdnest Associations group together and determine the price.  Afterall the price is base on supply and demand.  In this way, it will also encourage BH owners and all related  business associates to join the association.  Members who determine the market price has to be a mixture of BH owners, wholesalers and retailers.  Just my 2 cents  tongue.gif

<<A suggestion, get a chiller to store your nests to maintain its freshness ie whiteness or otherwise it will turn brownish.
*

>>

I put the unprocessed birdnest into fridge inside a container. After sometime I found that it strink in size, maybe due to dehydration. So if the nest is put into chiller, will lost $$$ due to dehydration? blink.gif

Is our govt representative goin to China to clarify the nitrite level and the work on lifting the ban imposed by China? I have China friends told me that China has news spreading that birdnest nutrients is not as good as it claim afterall doh.gif This will be bad for Malaysia. Any doctor or expert help to clarify this to China, what about our heallllth dept!!!

Have a good day whistling.gif

Hi Sifus & Fellow Members

I attended the butrajaya talk. it seems that they sent out invitation letter to existing processor and exporters. I disguised myself as representing my uncle and they insist I wrote down as farmer.

Whenever pioneers (e.g. dato beh) brought up existing problems, the MOH Mdm knew all problems. Unfortunately, no solutions were given. Afraid EBN matters will ended up like the export of seafood to EU which was delay for almost 2 years.

The funny thing is that nothing mention how MOH is going to address the Nitrate ppm. This issue can only be solved between G2G. Hope some Datos with strong connection can speed up the MOH to solve the issue very soon. MOH is trying to convince China to accept 1ppm. But can our EBN has such low ppm rclxub.gif

God Bless Malaysia Boleh Nest Industries.

Cheers smile.gif

good news, at last our agri minister take advices from the real bn exporters to concentrate on resolving the ppm issue with china instead of focusing on registration and gps tracking system... he said already proposed to china that bn nitrite 30ppm is allowable n wait for the feedback from china.

he also proposed to china to grade the bn with three standard : 1) Top Grade Bird's Nest (white), 2) lower grade Bird's nest ( maybe a bit yellow kua..), 3) Higher moisture level bird's nest ( not sure why this come out)...

hope this is expedite....before it is too late....

but gps n licence n monopoly issues still intact.....waiting for the next opportunity to strike back.....hai....

miss the program? no worry, the program is nothing but .. ` Yu Mo Lun Chi!'....just liked me....... sayonara.

Hi CK

Thanked you so much for the updated info. Fortunately I did not sacrify my sleep-in wonderful day for the ground zero program. tongue.gif

Does Vet Dept implement 1Msia Tracebility System for all husbandary industries, i.e. GPS for all animals farm or only specially for our dear swiftlet. If so, how precious they love swifltet to take that extra expensive care, at farmers expenses. vmad.gif

Due to all China issue, no I have to review my invetment in BH as it is my hardearned money. I learned alot from this forum. Appreciation to all Sifus notworthy.gif

The truth is that there is no news that is good news but only news that will not put you in hospital for heart attack.

The problems with the China issue and V-Dept haven't been resolved and also the falling price of our nests, now news of the health Dept want a share in the Buz and wanted all owners to register with the Health Dept.

The health dept doesn't understand that raw birdnests do not come under their jurisdiction and their argument is that food is under them and come on... Why cows and other animals not under them but only the meat.....so, it's only if processed nests like bottled nest ready for immediate consumption should only come under their jurisdiction and not our raw nests..

Also, HK suppliers are said to have tons of Red nests at hand and so guess what they are going to do with it and HKian are the kingmaker of the trade and they don't go down easily.

Sekian, Berita Hari Ini

Good evening WW

That seminar in Putrajaya drawn out clearly that BH only register with Vet. After this point, i.e.once raw birdnests are sold regardless to local or overseas market, then have to register with MOH. Then have to apply for SK1M or GAP or HACCP or HACCP1Malaysia. SK1M is for small players and FOC. HACCP 1 MALAYSIA also is FOC for small timer whereas big timer rich enough to pay for HACCP biggrin.gif . That was the comment by MOH tongue.gif

A HK friend in BN business said the same thing that tons of BN holding in HK. They might be turning it into white now tongue.gif

WW, wanna check with you why some BH put up partitions? Does it really help or hinder the swiftlet, blocking their path?

Cheers

Good Morning, my friend.

Partition is required when your birds refuse to stay due to disturbances of the natural kind or that a certain area has no EBN due to infighting among the ketua burung. To fasten birds growth, some form of partition maybe require to allow other gang of birds to start a new settlement in your BH.

Hinder of bird path, no unless you purposely done a nasty U turn or Z path that may not be problem with old birds but certainly will be with inexperienced new birds which are the ones you want.

Normally, new BHs started without partitions but gradually will if situation require it. If all go well, why partition cos you have the 1Malaysia group of birds there and if they aren't the harmony types, then partition out and you now have 2 or more new rooms; like human being, if all can stay together, all is well, otherwise, partition out and there will be less infighting and more toward making new babies.

Hope that I answered you well.
*
Very Good morning WW

You always answered all question very very well. Thank you thank you flex.gif

OIC, so swiftlet do fights too. I heard that those swiftlet patronising rivers are of bigger size and they will fight off other swiftlet species. Is it true that this type of swiftletts' produce bigger size nest? Then 'far tat loh' tongue.gif

So better start off without partition to save cost and until and unless necessary then still can put up. I thought each house only have 1 Tay Koh (leader). Looks like that is not the case.

Pray that BN business will not be monopolise to favour a few. When are they going to learn their lessons??? doh.gif

How nice if CK can get a copy of the HK analysis report of the nitrite after cooking. This to present to MOA or MOH to substantial the claim. They have to be fed loh.

Cheers to all members icon_rolleyes.gif

See, we do have many good guys around helping to solve the present problem.....one thing we must consider is that Malaysia is a small country which China doesn't look up to...meaning that if we are America, then this situation is long aver.

If only the Chinese authorities listen to our reasoning; give Malaysia GOM the chance to explain, all will be well. The chinese have been eating the good thing,  birdnest for many generations and remain healthy so this should be just a hiccup and over in no time.

So, be strong and confidence as this isn't the first time we encounter problem with low price and we shall see the sun again.

Dear Sifus

notworthy.gif Appreciaiton to TF for the initiative. rclxms.gif

Does anyone have contacts with Tan Sri Robert Kuok. I read an article that he is very influential in China. If I am not wrong, he is a pioneer to invest in China way back in 1970s or 1980s. He has a chain of Shangarila hotels in China and still expanding. He will be of great help to Malaysia BN i.e. birdnest industry.

God bless us.

doom meaning doom for the next one or few years n if it is going to recover back to the good old days where demand exceed supply.....u go n read the news published in china for the past two months....it is everywhere.....many medias, newspapers, magazines in china are actually use this as headlines story.....this is not good at all....all the news are extremely negatives to bnests, bird's nests not a food source at all, just something that peoples buy as expensive gifts to others n also for rich ppls to eat...but if they learned that bn is not as healthy as they think.....those who think of buying it as a gift to others will think twice n those rich ppls that eat it themselves, they can choose other more expensive healthy products to eat liked `tong chong chou' n etc.....many many other choices !....
it is no longer issue of whether we can send our nests to china or not.....send there n no one buying also is an issue.....

of course, it will not happen where no one will buy nests at all...but dropping 50% of nests sales will cause the whole market collapsed...

no one can predict how fast this time we can recover, during flu times it is about 6 months....this time....pray harder loh.....
to have china gives the green light to sell bn is just one small step....educate n make consumers to be confident with bn is utmost important.....

Very good morning CK

Cheer up man, be positive and look at the bright sunny day today.

Accoridng to reports, HK imported 80% of BN. Their main market in China. They are the bigger loser if mainland really stop consuming BN. HKies will take action to remedy this issue. But this doesn't means Msia do not have to do anything. Just my 2 cents tongue.gif

Cheers guys

Hi WW & CK

Totally agreed with you that when they are still buyers around, meaning the demand is there. Good advice for the industry to hold the stock to stable the price. It is just like shares trading, panic selling will cause the BN sharemarket down south.

Tinklebell is just a normal person who is very interested to own a BH, god's willing. I have been following this forum actively and learn alot. Sometimes input one or two of my 2 cents wink.gif

The enquiry is from a friend. I have question him of the order too. He tome is serious, but only god knows. I am just coordinating and if the deal is success then maybe I get a few pieces FOC wink.gif from him.

CK, you can PM me the price and it will be treated strictly P&C. I am a friend here and not enermy or sobatager as I will be in the same ship hopefully very very soon smile.gif God's willing.

Good to get rid once and for all the color thing. Get he REAL thing lah.

BTW, someone mention about a machine for cleaning that will lower the nitrite level. What type of machine is this? Is it a filter only? Where to get it? I wanted to know for knowledge. Who knows I might process my own from my own BH in future wink.gif

Good day Guys

biggrin.gif Hi Guys

Isn't this forum a democratic forum. I thought at least in here we are free to voice and share our opinion. Feedback from others might lead us to learn new things, knowledge and even learn our mistake.

I hope that the forum here is free for all to talk. Like not the other side of the world (outside) where 'We have the freedom to talk. Only after the talk that we do not have the freedom' quote RPK tongue.gif

This forum is free for all. Readers are free to take it or leave it or leave your comment.

TOMORROW WILL BE A BETTER DAY biggrin.gif

Since our GOM has so much money at hand to give to the raayat, we also raayat and the GOM should dump in billions to save us now.........buying all Malaysian nests at our hand and stock piles it to ensure better pricing.

Set up processing plants here also with the help of the GOM fund to produce end products cos now is the best time to do so with less capital investment (cheap Birdnests) and educated Malaysian and neighboring Singapore to take EBN daily for health.

Maybe, with this storm really come with it a golden harvest....a new industry...top Quality EBN producers of end product in the world...may it be drinks, cakes or cosmetic and health supplements.

Only my talk talk only.
