Insiders tipped that the Selangor representatives also voluntarily secretly counter-suggested to Selangor State Govt during a recent dialogue to allow only BHs already registered to stay put and be granted premise license and those new or not registered yet whether belonged to its members or not, should not be allowed to apply for license and must be demolished. If this is true, then the representatives are not living up to the expectation and their moral obligation to defend the interest of the industry. They are in fact having selfish hidden agenda and trying to practise monopoly for their own existing BHs. Think all the other BH owners whether members or not should expose their evil intention and condemn them. Understand the Kedah association president is also doing that. vmad.gif vmad.gif

This is the trouble of having corrupted or ill-reputed either present or former politicians from infamous political party to lead the association. The leaders and the committee should not be elected from people whether presently or formerly active in political party. The associations should be very neutral and above politics and led by leaders strictly with no political party background. How could the STATE GOVTS entertain the requests or favours from the NGOs led by their political rivals or enemies and thus helping the enemies to claim credit? Just use our common sense and wisdom to think. This applies to all states whether under the BN or PR. Therefore, it is wise for the members for their own interest to call for EGM to re-elect new leaders strictly with no political party background and thus at least deemed neutral to lead. Or maybe another new association should be formed immediately with leaders and committee with no political party background to lead in the negotiation. They should do it soonest for most State Govt are now in the mid of reviewing and making decision on the final status of the BH industry in their respective state. Those states that are considered facing high risk of expecting of getting not FRIENDLY decision are the Penang, Kedah and Selangor states for the moment.

If the Federal Association is really sincere in wanting to unite all to have true representation and support from the industry, then its members should advise a few of its controversial committee in particularly the President, the treasurer etc to gracefully step down totally. They are the tumbling blocks with hidden agenda that are dictating, marginalizing, sidelining and creating enmity with the rest of hundred of similar associations across the country who are not their members and not supporting them. Only with their disappearance from the Federal Association, will there be a true unity and support given considered. Remember. This type of bird’s nest association is not like the professional association of Engineer, doctors, architect, accountant, surveyor, pharmacist, lawyer etc where there is a law passed that all qualified professionals before permitted to practise must be assessed and registered with only one professional association or body that would responsible to govern and monitor their conduct.

It is very unlawful for any authority to mislead anybody that he must join in an association solely recognized by it before his application for a license is considered. By doing so, the Authority concerned is illegally practising monopoly and thus infringing on the basic constitutional right of an individual. Remember, a guideline is never a law. It is merely an advice with no legal binding and thus not necessary to be recognized or obeyed.

Pekan Association is not in any way associated to the Federal Association at all. It is an independent localised association under very good, sincere and committed committee and leadership. There is another Merchant Association there but has very limited membership and command no respect from the local BH owners.

Understand in Alor Star, the local council is in the process to issue BH licenses at only RM180 per BH operation across the board to all BH owners. There is no necessity for any applicant to be member of any association or must have certificate of GAHP. It is a good job well done by the PAKATAN RAKYAT COUNCILLORS with the full cooperation and support from the Council Mayor. In fact, they decided and started the process even well before the announcement of the 1GP. Understand the Alor Star Council is not prepared to follow the 1GP if the guidelines are too stringent and bureaucratic with red tapes. It is hope that the other local councils in Kedah will follow suit soon. But it seems there are Little Napoleons in certain councils dictated by the UMNO with hidden agenda trying to give problems to the local BH owners so to invite hatred for the Kedah PR State Govt.

Anyway, it is always good to join or form another association under leadership you trust and have confidence into. But please be prepared to participate and contribute in any way you could in unity to protect the common interest of all the BH owners in your area. Never be selfish. In unity under a true association, you have strength to bargain and negotiate with the Authority for justified terms. The Govt officials always very scare of dealing with representatives from known well supported association under truly respectable leadership. Even the most corrupted officials would have to behave themselves and act professional and be reasonable in the negotiation with such association.

Maybe someone can help pass the following info to the Chairman of the Pekan Association to help him in convincing the Pekan Council to be realistic and reasonable. If not, we can bet that by next General Election, the Pahang State will definitely be lost to PAKATAN RAKYAT.

The premise licence rate for all business in all Local Councils across the country should be more or less the same. Why must the BH licence rate be discriminated and special? This is definitely against the 1MALAYSIA policy of Najib and his encouragement to encourage this industry. How are the rural and kampong folks going to be encouraged to participate with such crazy rate to start with?

This is evidence showing how unprofessional and incompetent our Malaysia Civil Service is. The few several Little Napoleons in the position are grossly abusing the position and power and circumventing the rule and regulation doing things at their personal whim and fancy and probably with secret agenda without accountability. It looks like the Little Napoleons are the one and not the elected politicians to rule this country. But the majority of the Civil Service are still professional and with etiquette except they are not in the positions.

Anyway, maybe all of us here can do a little to help in confirming the finding by individually checking out the various rates of the different type of premise licence in different area and have them posted up here. It is very simple with only a call to find out. Many of us are in business or are having friends in the different type of businesses, thus are all paying premise license. Just give a call requesting them to look at the displayed license for the yearly rate printed below. This is no big deal and no OSA. But this is going to be very useful and helpful for our representatives to justify in the negotiation and argument with their respective councils. We must do it fast. Please, do it. Don’t tell me that such a simple matter we also can’t do to help them to defend us?

OH!!!!!MY GOD!!!!!! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif vmad.gif

I beg your pardon, Mr WW, as to your statement alleging that the swiftlet farming, ranching or whatever you called it as ILLEGAL. This is very misleading. Swiftlet farming is never ILLEGAL as far as Malaysia Law is concerned. It can only be considered as ILLEGAL if it is like gambling, prostitution, drug pushing etc which are bad and specifically passed through in Parliament saying these activities are strictly prohibited, then only it is ILLEGAL. Nothing in law, up to now, saying it is prohibited. Therefore, please have better understanding of the term “ILLEGAL”. Swiftlet farming is never illegal whether in town or in rural. It is the ‘PROBLEMS’ produced by certain irresponsible BH owners that are infringing a certain local by-laws such as indiscriminately blasting of the sound disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood thus infringed the NUISANCE act and the substantially renovating or extending a 2 storey building into a 3 storey building altering the load of the structure or the façade without prior approval obtained from the local authority as required by building by-law, that are inviting complaints from the authorities and the neighbours against that particular building so happened to be a BH.

Operating a BH without a license and as long as it does not infringe any of the local by-laws is never ILLEGAL. It is not the BH owners who refused to apply for a license; it is that up to now, no Govt Authority is vested with the jurisdiction or power under the law to grant specific ‘SWIFTLET NEST OPERATING’ licence yet. There is no such term as ‘SWIFTLET NEST OPERATING’ defined under the Local Council Act. Actually, a real professional and capable head of the Local Council could have easily classified it under the PETTY TRADES AND COTTAGE INDUSTRIES in the existing by-law and solved all the problems. This is happening to those local councils that have already issued BH licenses years ago such as Penang, Perak, Pahang, Kelantan etc. If you were to scrutinize it carefully, it is a sub-section under the PETTY TRADES AND COTTAGE INDUSTRIES. But, sadly, due to the “MALAYSIA CIVIL SERVICE CULTURE”, that certain greedy Little Napoleons and several unscrupulous politicians in power view this so called new trade which so happened involved the majority operators/investors are Chinese, as a big, fat meat which they could exploit to get something out for their personal gains with hidden agenda by making matter difficult. With the certain Little Napoleons from the numerous departments eyeing to split this piece of cake abusing their power and conscience and discarded their professional etiquette, they are trying best to mislead some innocent politicians in power by creating many redundant, controversial and contradicting lengthy bureaucratic procedures and red tapes to complicate a simple and straight forward matter. Can you imagine, this “new” trade surfaced since 10 years ago and yet, our BOLEHLAND civil service is still trying to find more ways to slaughter pre-maturely this young god-sent golden goose to Malaysia? These Little Napoleons have forgotten that this, no doubt started by the Chinese at the initial stage, but eventually the fruit is going to be shared by all the Malaysians of multiethnic for a long time to come. It is just like the “KEW GARDEN RUBBER SEEDINGS” which started by the European pioneers in Malaya but today it is enjoyed by the whole Malaysia and its people.

10 years ago, Malaysia is second to Indonesia as world largest bird’s nest producing country. 5 years ago, we dropped to 3rd placing next to Thailand. Today, in spite of we having broken the 100,000 Bird's houses mark from a mere less than 1,000 since 10 years ago, we are already number 4 next to Vietnam. 2 years ago, many local pioneers ceased to build new BHs in Malaysia. They have gone to Vietnam to invest in BH. Beginning of this year, many of our experienced consultant friends/pioneers are being engaged by the Cambodia and Myamar Govt to help them to do up large scale BH projects. So, where will we be in another 5 years? I think our neighbouring countries should thank our BOLEHLAND LITTLE NAPOLEONS.

These Napoleons may have forgotten or not aware that this golden goose is not only sent to Malaysia but also all the countries in the tropical zone. Therefore, this is no exclusive or monopoly to Malaysia. If our Malaysia policy makers are not smart enough to quickly capitalizing on the advantage that we have over others to groom to maximise its potential to compete with our neighbours for the foreign revenue which Malaysia is in desperation and dying for now, then, for sure we are losing out sooner than we can anticipate. With other countries doubling up in the production, soon a saturation point will reach and later it becomes over-supplied and the demand will drop and there goes our much needed foreign revenue.

Can every one of you try to pen down what the real benefits and advantages that Malaysia and its people has gained from this industry since 10 years ago and what further benefits in the years to come? At least, this will help open up the eyes of those short-sighted and shake them up.

Could somebody be kind enough to have this posting pasted onto the facebooks of our PM, Ministers, MPs, Excos, YBs, heads of the various departments and all those you think they should be alerted of the true scenarios? I have no eyes to see anymore. God bless BOLEHLAND.

Penpower, why do we scare of speaking the truth and doing the right thing? Good parents always teach children never lie and fear no evil. Stand up against any evil force and be firm in legitimate principle. The only times evil triumphs are when all the good men are doing nothing or losing their balls. The evils should have more fear in doing bad thing. It takes only any ordinary man with balls to speak the truth. For those who support and suggest no more new BH be allowed after the set dateline if any, indicates and shows they are the most insincere, dishonest, greedy and selfish evils who are trying to practise monopoly and exclusive right to deprive others’ right from participating in the industry in this democratic and free enterprising spirit of Malaysia. It is just analogical to a certain existing coffee shop owners who are greedy and hooligan stopping other new coffee shops on the same street.

Associations’ main role is to unite people from the same trade or with the same common interest and to protect and defend ONLY their LEGITIMATE rights from being unlawfully deprived of or injured. It does not have the jurisdiction and power to deprive others of their legitimate rights under the constitution and in this democratic society. As such, the Swiftlet Associations can only appeal to the authorities not to make life difficult for its members but it CANNOT tell or even suggest to the authorities to make life difficult for others who are not their members.

Confucius said, DO NOT DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT OTHERS DO UNTO YOU. So, for those who have the GREED in them, please stop being a hypocrite. It takes a fool to think all are fools. We know your GREED and HIDDEN AGENDA.

Some may wonder if I am contemplating to do up a new one in town after the so called suggested dateline if any. Let me tell you, I am one of the early birds and am already having a few very successful ones in town. The main reason I ventured into this trade was that these few properties were untenable and vacant for years with not only no revenue in return but were liabilities to me. These were surrounded by many new ones trying very hard to lure my swiftlets into their and yet not many succeed. Despite of this, all the new neighbouring BH owners became my personal friends as I offered them free bird’s shit and whatever possible assistance, advice or tip when they asked. I have no intention of doing any more new one but that does not give me the right to make life difficult for the fellow new comers. Another very important fact is we are not doing anything ILLEGAL or bad. We are actually doing good deed for this country. We are not only self-rescuing but we are also contributing and supporting in the prevention of the ever weakening economic of Malaysia from tumbling without the Govt given any aids or subsidy at all. We should be proud of ourselves of living up to be considered real patriotic Malaysians and the Malaysia Govt owes us a real big favour. Do you know why all the BH owners are so angry and so mad with the present Govts? It is because they are indeed truly very UNGRATEFUL.

To me, several of them are not fit and qualified to be our national leaders from the ways they complicated so many straight forward and simple policies.

" Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country"

I think what we can do best now for this country that we called “OUR BELOVED COUNTRY” is to replace all the corrupted and racist politicians by next General Election. This is the best form of loyalty and patriotism that every Malaysian should do unless you are a selfish, dishonoured and short-sighted who disregards the future of our next generation and that includes your own children and grand children.

Yes, on the eve of our beloved country’s National Day, it is time for us to sit down calmly to look back the past year and ponder what our country through the unscrupulous and corrupted political bugs had done for us. With regret, our country has not done anything positive for us. Instead, the scenario seems to be worsened. At this rate, if we, the concerned and patriotic citizen, do not prepare to do something to help altering our own country’s fate now, I afraid, very soon, our younger generation would become either boat people or foreign labourers to our neighbouring countries. Is this what we want from these bugs in power?

Yes, strongly agree that we do not expect any more what this country can do for us with these idiots around. We have decided, at this minute, this hour on the eve of our National Day, we solemnly swear that we would definitely do something for our beloved country that is WE SHALL REPLACE ALL THE BUGS BY NEXT ELECTION. Oh, our mighty lord, please let the election come soonest for we are already ready and are dying for it………….for we want NONSENSE no more…….

This is an important message and appeal from DL to all fellow forumers. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Dear friends, do all of you still remember or that forgetful of the SARAWAK MUKAH SWIFTLET MASSACRE of 14.10.2008 and the hard time that we tried to help and go through? This could be the only correct timing and opportunity for all of us here in unity to assist the DAP/PR to help the Sarawakians to throw the corrupted idiots and their cronies into the sea. The DAP/PR can’t do it alone without your support. Please provide all sorts of assistances to them now voluntarily. But the most important is MONEY. Without this, the DAP/PR election vehicle couldn’t go far. I am not from Sarawak, yet I am donating a few kg of nest to them. I feel this is my moral obligation to help the poor fellow Malaysians in Sarawak who have been suffering for the last 30 years. This is the only way I could offer to help. After all, I don’t think I could bring along all my hard earned wealth into my grave. Better donate some now to help them to create better future for our next generation through the DAP/PR fighters. Sikit Sikit Jadi Bukit. Please email and spread this message to as many as you could. Also call up all your friends and relatives in Sarawak telling them not to be selfish and advising them be united to go all out to render whatever assistance to the DAP & PR during this Sarawak Election period. It lasts only 2 weeks as from now. If everything with god blessing, goes fine, every Sarawakian BH owner could sleep soundly after that. If not, again in nightmares.......poor Sarawakian BH owner brothers..... UNITY IS ALWAYS STRENGTH AT THE RIGHT TIMING.......
