Just wanted to ask other successful REP applicants. I too am a returning expat but my application was rejected because I had filed my income tax return for last year using Form BE. I simply declared Rental income like a good citizen. But on that grounds they disqualified me saying that Form BE is for local residents. And hence it means I'm local and cannot qualify as non-resident. The truth is I used Form BE because I didn't know I was supposed to use a different form as I thought all Malaysian citizens use Form BE for non-business income. So I was actually disqualified on technical grounds.
Anyone with similar experience can please shed some light for the benefit of other future applicants too.
