When will your internship start?

There are intern seasons where companies will start to mass recruit interns during particular months in the year and will be arranged by your own college/universities. If you don't belong to this category, I suggest that you apply first and let them get back to you. But follow up some time to know your status. And keep your options open as well.

If not, try to look for their internship opening in websites. Some companies will open for application all year round, but only screen application on particular months.

I used to have an Intern who working with me, he applied to enter my company on June. They only got back to him somewhere around November. Since he did apply half one semester early, he got it in time and enjoyed his experience here.

So it really differs company to company.
