LOL, you must have mistaken me as another Blizz fanboy. I love games, but not the companies who made them. Anyway, the difference between you & me are just our perspectives & where we're standing. You look at the current initiatives as a milking scheme while I see it as an alternatives to allow casual gamers try the game without having to pay the full price.

While Blizz has yet to go official on this new plan of theirs, I don't see anything weird since people have been willing to fork out $$$ for the WoW subscriptions for the past years. They're just applying an optional purchase method that mimics how gamers pay for their WoW.

Yes, 30USD is not cheap but if they can make the monthly subscription fees low enough, I really do see it as an advantage, especially to a guy who earns too little to pay for the full 60USD at one go. Now, don't tell me if you're poor, you shouldn't be playing SC2.

What i heard was, when u buy the retail version, the game already comes with free 60 days. By then, even the SP shud be finished. U shud ask urself, are u buying the game for the SP only ... or for the MP.

look man, for 3 thread versions hes being b****ing and whining about almost anything that blizz/sc2 releases/announces, so while i appreciate you taking the effort to talk some sense into him, im afraid that its a waste of time

Well by referring to most Malaysian gamer's mentality, who do you think will only buy an Original Starcraft just for the single player campaign. The main reason I'm buying it is because of one time payment battle.net MP experience but if they force us to pay monthly fee, I might as well download starcrack and play.

Why do they spend years of balancing the game if they want to lose a chunk of their players to only single player?

I doubt that Malaysia is gonna get the 60 days limited edition for RM248.

It's was too ridiculous for that price. You can almost buy 2 latest retail games with that.

Plans for a subscription-based StarCraft 2 are in the works for Latin America, Asia and Russia. While US gamers will only pay a one-time fee to start harvesting Vespene Gas on July 27, players abroad will be offered two different ways to play: subscription or an all-access fee.

A press release detailing plans for localization in Latin American Spanish for Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile covers the subscription model. By picking up the title for $299 MXN / $119 ARS / $13,900 CLP -- about $30 USD -- gamers will be given access to the single-player and multiplayer portions of the game for 60 days. Once that period ends, they can re-up their subscription for a fee (which hasn't been disclosed yet). The other option is to download the game directly from Blizzard for a one-time fee of $59.99 USD, granting permanent access to the title.

It seems blizzard is no longer the company we know they have turned into a monster company feeding on their fans now while the old trusted blizzards has been perish . Seriously paying  Rm 248 and yet need to pay subscription fees they are only milking the franchise they have created . Sorry but sc2 is going to turn into a hate product if they do it like this.

Activision-Blizzard just screwed the "Modern Warfare" franchise into the ground due to a battle of egos regarding franchise's future development and monster profits....
