What i heard was, when u buy the retail version, the game already comes with free 60 days. By then, even the SP shud be finished. U shud ask urself, are u buying the game for the SP only ... or for the MP.

I doubt that Malaysia is gonna get the 60 days limited edition for RM248.
It's was too ridiculous for that price. You can almost buy 2 latest retail games with that. |

I love games, but not the companies who made them. Anyway, the difference between you & me are just our perspectives & where we're standing. You look at the current initiatives as a milking scheme while I see it as an alternatives to allow casual gamers try the game without having to pay the full price. look man, for 3 thread versions hes being b****ing and whining about almost anything that blizz/sc2 releases/announces, so while i appreciate you taking the effort to talk some sense into him, im afraid that its a waste of timeWhile Blizz has yet to go official on this new plan of theirs, I don't see anything weird since people have been willing to fork out $$$ for the WoW subscriptions for the past years. They're just applying an optional purchase method that mimics how gamers pay for their WoW. Yes, 30USD is not cheap but if they can make the monthly subscription fees low enough, I really do see it as an advantage, especially to a guy who earns too little to pay for the full 60USD at one go. Now, don't tell me if you're poor, you shouldn't be playing SC2. This post has been edited by Quazacolt: May 8 2010, 01:31 PM |

Well by referring to most Malaysian gamer's mentality, who do you think will only buy an Original Starcraft just for the single player campaign. The main reason I'm buying it is because of one time payment battle.net MP experience but if they force us to pay monthly fee, I might as well download starcrack and play. Why do they spend years of balancing the game if they want to lose a chunk of their players to only single player? |

QUOTE(Deimos Tel`Arin @ May 8 2010, 11:11 AM) publishers, developers are greedy. Are you sure your method of categorizing the incomes are correct ? how could monthly income be passive ? while one time is active ?they want passive income, not active income. one time off retail box sales = active income monthly subscription = passive income |

QUOTE(DeanKueh @ May 8 2010, 02:09 PM) You pay one time fee for free battle.net 2.0 access la. those who need to pay monthly is for Russia only. Nope,no longer the case. Asia might get the time limited version too. QUOTE Plans for a subscription-based StarCraft 2 are in the works for Latin America, Asia and Russia. While US gamers will only pay a one-time fee to start harvesting Vespene Gas on July 27, players abroad will be offered two different ways to play: subscription or an all-access fee. A press release detailing plans for localization in Latin American Spanish for Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile covers the subscription model. By picking up the title for $299 MXN / $119 ARS / $13,900 CLP -- about $30 USD -- gamers will be given access to the single-player and multiplayer portions of the game for 60 days. Once that period ends, they can re-up their subscription for a fee (which hasn't been disclosed yet). The other option is to download the game directly from Blizzard for a one-time fee of $59.99 USD, granting permanent access to the title. During Activision's annual investors call yesterday, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime confirmed that Blizzard would pursue a similar pricing structure for Asian and Russian territories. Well, i have been saying this since dunno when.No one believes me.RM248 for a PC game is ridiculous. MW2's price is bad. SC2's price is even worse. If they put subscription on SC2 and RM248, wow, the ridiculous level has been brought to a new level. KeSPA said this to Blizzard: QUOTE Activision-Blizzard just screwed the "Modern Warfare" franchise into the ground due to a battle of egos regarding franchise's future development and monster profits.... Will Activision-Blizzard do the same thing with eSports? Translation is available on Team Liquid. I dont think Blizzard is still the same saint. |

I'm not sure whether I've read the article from joystiq correctly but I saw the word "option" which means they allow Asians to CHOOSE between one time payment and subscription?

Let's wait for official notice / announcement from Blizz first; THEN ONLY we Same situation with me, as i can do decent rushes, but problems comes when im in mid or late game. I think, this happens because you are not familiar with the tech trees and the not obvious counters in the game. I still dont really get it why the game tells me the counter for Colossus is Viking. Siege Tank seem more obvious to me.Any of you have UMS maps to train micro? I always come to the situation of not sure on what units to train when it comes to mid / late games. I started to use Help[F12] to find my counters now as some of the counters arent obvious at all. Watching replays should help too.
