QUOTE(cynachen @ May 12 2010, 11:34 PM) I also have this problem. The client is in Korean =.=. Anyway, to solve it, you have to do the following things: TS,1) Download the US client. You can get it by google. 2) Download the asia region for base.sc2data @ http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessag...topic_id=118158 3) Install US client. 4) Place downloaded base.sc2data to 'StarCraft II Beta\Mods\Core.SC2Mod\' folder. 5) Done. Start playing. Hope it helps. Put this in the first few post as well. This might help those who have the Korean version. |

QUOTE(teongpeng @ May 16 2010, 07:10 AM) when the whole world is downloadin from the same source...this will happen. just wait for a while. I do face quite a few problems in relation to Starcraft 2 Beta and I had to find the fix myself.dont know anything dont buat pandai pandai la. As such, I am going to be writing a very long email to Blizzard as feedback when I have the time. Hopefully, the issues I have faced will not be in the final game. Upon fixing those issues, the gameplay portion of Starcraft 2 Beta is quite good. |

Starcraft 2 censored in South Korea
QUOTE When an early build of the game was submitted to the Korean equivalent of the ESRB earlier this year, it received an Adults Only rating. Not content with the possibility of missing out on sales from the younger market segment, Blizzard went back and changed a few elements of the game to make it more kid-friendly. Among the changes were the removal of smoking and bad language from cutscenes, as well as changing the color of all in-game blood to black instead of red. They succeeded in earning a 12+ rating, and while Blizzard said they are happy to have done so, they are also considering releasing the uncut version in that region, as well. Can't really remembered most of the story in Starcraft 1. |

QUOTE(evofantasy @ May 31 2010, 02:14 PM) hmmm u can go to http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/StarCraft_Wiki and read all about it ^.^ Nah, I probably replay the whole thing quickly.its much more detailed cause it covers some aspect from the novels etc... Added on May 31, 2010, 2:14 pmps: http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/StarCraft_storyline Graphics maybe dated but I still like the story. Just bought Starcraft 1 Anthology and Diablo 2 from Battlenet on the weekend (sort of). |

Bought Starcraft 1 and Diablo 2 for USD15.
Tested out the download from Battlenet. Some noticeable improvement. Now it has estimated time to go and MB left to download. Download client from Battlenet US website is still very slow and has the tendency to break thereby making the executable non functional. Speed wise is faster to download the whole game from Battlenet (after executing the client) |

QUOTE(evofantasy @ May 31 2010, 02:36 PM) to me, those are just 'features'... For individual client from HTTP Direct Download (slow from Battlenet US, fast from Battlenet Korea, however using the client from here will invalid the download half way thru)as long as the gameplay is solid (single player, multiplayer, plot, balance etc), its a good game... after all bnet is a platform that is subjected to change overtime... bashing/ boycotting the game due to these features is a joke... why not just bash sc2 cause its popular? (thus potential to be milked off)... Added on May 31, 2010, 2:37 pm if i'm nt mistaken, blizz uses p2p for downloads... For the game itself P2P (generally slow) + HTTP (very fast), speed still slightly slower than Steam downloads / Impulse downloads but noticeable faster than GFWL's DLC download. After that installation is very fast, probably due to the fact that all games from Blizzard excluding WoW (as of now is less than 2gb) |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 31 2010, 02:44 PM) They are thinking in the same way as the corrupted Blizzard. Yes, tested with Diablo 2, Diablo 2 LOD and Starcraft 1 Anthology.I see the Battlenet 2.0 the same way as IWNet: An instrument to control the entire game, including it's life span regardless on the integrity of the community. Simple reason, if you played Burnout Paradise, where EA attempt to milk it with overpower DLC cars, the whole multiplayer community died overnight because if you dont buy those overpower cars, you'll lose no matter how hard you try. Whats the point of buying it then, considering how ridiculous Activision is these days. Those "private" servers are why SC1 and DotA become famous. Without them, SC1 would be forgotten long time. I doubt removing LAN is just because of piracy,as Blizzard themselves said fighting piracy is a losing battle. The main game client download seem much faster for me,IMO. Probably redownload (hopefully updated version) Warcraft 3 ROS and Frozen Throne because I am just too lazy to update the game if I were to install it on another PC / Laptop. |

QUOTE(talexeh @ May 31 2010, 03:14 PM) Well, sounds like you've never heard of DRM, where YOU, the legitimate end user REALLY SUFFER! Would you prefer DRM or the current path that Blizz is taking? There is DRM for Starcraft 2 (ie. CD-Key and Battlenet)However, whether it will or will not get in the way of people enjoying the game would be another matter. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 31 2010, 03:46 PM) Whatever i say, it's just a waste of effort and time, as there is nothing to say to you people. You are happy with the game so be it then, but is there a need to go on and on with this? The videos and so on are proves, but you all just ignore it. Fine by me. Cheese,You want me to post a warez link? No thanks. Go find it yourself, and these things will happen sooner or later. If you gonna write an email to Blizzard please CC me as well. I need to write something to them but I haven't got the time these days. Also, I kinda forgotten what issues I faced previously therefore, I need to recap. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 31 2010, 04:30 PM) Cant be bothered,as it will be a waste of time. You email to them didnt actually end up with anything fruitful. I wouldn't say all feedbacks to Blizzard ended in vain.Back when SC2 just announced, people were complaining about the ugly Siege Tank. Blizzard changed it to the current awesome one 3 months later. If they could see the problem, they would have known by now. The amount of unhappy people isnt just a few people, but definitely not to the scale of MW2's no dedicated servers. They dont even give a damn about MW2's dedicated server issue, even it spans all the way to gaming mainstream media like PC Gamer and Gamespy who are also not happy with. What makes you that they will do something about this? They drove the Guitar Hero franchise to the ground, while the ex-competitor, Harmonix still alive and kicking, again with their competitor, EA and MTV. It's just funny to see how much shit Kotick has done past few years, and he is still there. At least for now I can see a lot of improvement for the downloaders from Blizzard. Could very well be some people were disgruntled and did complain about it and Blizzard improved it. Similarly, it very well could be the same situation in relation to setting up an office in Singapore. As such, we should give them some feedbacks especially since we are beta-testers. |
