I can see quite a number of MACkers...bought a MBP added with an external monitor. It functions the same as before? Am thinking whether to get an iMac or MPB. I'm gonna use it partly for designing/editing film purposes.

@wyxyz
agreed with llsphinxll. yep i was in the same dilemma before.. and imho 2 screens are better for designing/editing purposes, even tho the complete set (mbp+screen+acc) cost me more than a i7 27" imac but yaa my mpb served me well enough.. |

I've heard that in some aspect, iMac's quad-core wins over. |

Unless you decide to probably have the laptop running as a desktop then i think its fine. Heard mixed reviews about theB BookArc. Some say they do a pretty decent job with ventilation since the fan area is facing upwards, not too sure about that. Why don't you go for the m-stand instead? At least that way you have 2 screens? |

My Mac Desktop
![]() ![]() ![]() That's a DIY stand for my MBP made using a ring file and two tictac containers. I made it myself coz I wanted to use my Thermapak passive cooler underneath it but I couldn't find something that could fit my requirements. I'll probably fabricate one out of aluminium when I'm back in M'sia. |
